NFL could have come out and really put a slow down of this by admitting a mistake was made, instead they decide to double down on this bull [BLEEP].

Obvious they wouldn't say it like that, but it's not like they're going to have to go back and replay the game. The refs screwed up, we all saw it, admit it and move on.

It's similar to when we lost to the Packers years ago and the refs royally screwed us. The team submitted a bunch of replays and the NFL came back and admitted that like 16 of the 20 calls were wrong, or some crap like that, but the game was already over so it's not like anything would change. It was basically, "yup, they screwed up and you lost because of it, but get over it lololol".

Exactly. If they had said so and so screwed up but we dont think it affected the play then fine. Talk to the officiating crew after the game and tear them a new one. But this whole nonsense of it being after the play or not hearing a whistle is so stupid. Its the first game of the playoffs, try and set a standard.

By rule, if there's a whistle before the play is over, then by rule that play is deemed dead and must be replayed. That's what should have happened here.

Instead the refs screwed up the original call/ruling even after discussing it and then the league doubled down by saying this dumb crap. It's just a black cloud hanging over what was otherwise a good game between the Raiders and Bengals.
