It's not an effective argument both ways, which was the point. 

On a side note, above I used the phrase "home in," but I wrote it as "hone in" and received an autocorrect error. Looked it up. Home in is the more common and older version of the phrase, which I would not have guessed in a million years.

You didn't say "a few dumb commercials."  You said, "...a few dumb Mikesez posts."  

I think people attack Mikesez personally quite often.  Often the people who do it contribute nothing else to the discussion.

Mike made a post after I spent a good amount of time trying to clarify different ways people use the term, "woke." His post said, "Is that really what the great red/blue debate comes to? A few dumb commercials?"

To which I said the bit about a few dumb Mikesez posts. 

The reason I chose that response was because Mikey knew I wasn't trying to distill all of the red/blue debate into "a few dumb commercials." He's not stupid. He's just using a reductio ad absurdum argument tactic. In return, I did the same thing except about him, personally. 

Mine statement is not true, in the same way his is not true. That was the point. 

Is that clear?
