Dilla had the Caldwell news before anyone on Monday. Seems he's got the pulse on this one.

Baalke would be my fire over Press

He put the team together, he’s arrogant

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Balke wants to fire Press based on the fans trashing him.. when Balke was the previous target of most jags fans lol.

Whether a head or two rolls this offseason as a result remains to be seen, but I have no doubt that the interior of both lines will be addressed in a significant way in free agency and/or the draft no matter who is making those decisions.  FWIW I don't think Baalke is fired, but I think his seat is boiling lava hot next year only to be potentially cooled by early season success and that the apparent holes have been sufficiently filled.

Good post. You think back to the Colts week 1, first 2 drives we looked good then they just started blitzing and we couldn't deal with it. The drop off in talent depth wise really showed up at WR and CB.

I don't think anyone would be disappointed seeing the majority of FA and high draft picks used on the lines. Everyone can see it so surely they do too.

I agree about Baalke too. I think Khan gives him another year but he really needs to nail it this summer. All offseasons are important but this one feels especially so.

From 2018 to 2021 (4 seasons) the Jaguars won a total of 15 games (Coaches Meyer, Bevell, Marrone)

2017 was the outlier year where they won 10 games (Marrone's 1st year)

From 2012 to 2016 (5 seasons) the Jaguars won a total of 17 games (Marrone, Bradley, Mularky)

In 2021 and 2022 the Jaguars selected #1 in the NFL draft because they held the worst record in football two years in a row.

We gave our shiny new Franchise QB to a sociopath for his rookie year.

The 2022 team with a mid roster won a division title and playoff game in Year 1.

In two seasons the team has won 18 regular season games.

Yes, we need to fix the issues from this past season, but this team is practically a miracle based on where we were just 24 months ago.

I know as Jaguars fans that we've been accustomed to rebuilds that take a decade, but it doesn't have to be that way.  Yes, we were picking first overall two years ago and we are now 1 game over .500.  That's not a miracle in the NFL.  Do you what happened to the team that picked #2 in the draft that year?  They are the #3 seed in the NFC playoffs this year.  Do you know what happened to the team that picked #3 in the draft that year?  They are the #4 seed in the AFC playoffs.  NFL stands for "Not For Long".  If you have access to a franchise quarterback, a ton of salary cap space, and a bunch of extra draft picks including multiple extra early round draft picks, elevating a team to hovering around .500 after two years is not that much of a miracle.  The Panthers once went from picking #2 overall to the Super Bowl in two years.

All of this discussion is good. These differences in philosophy, and stubborn advocacy, need to get aired out so a consensus can be reached. I don't know how deeply Khan gets involved in these discussions, but he needs to step up and lead this. If he has to override Doug, then so be it. He also needs to tell Baalke that he drafts like [BLEEP] and should accept more input from inside and outside sources or hit the road.

Khan doesn't need to be involved all the time, but this dysfunction is going to continue until his F.O. personnel are working on the same page, which requires him to make his expectations clear. But therein lies the problem. Khan is an engineer and an industrialist, not a consensus builder of driven competitive personalities. Plus, he isn't really a "football guy". This is an expensive hobby for him. Regardless, he must be a stronger influence.

I feel we're close to the right recipe. Get everyone from Khan down to Trevor agreed on who he's comfortable with, make the appropriate staff (AND OFFENSIVE LINE) adjustments, and get back in the groove. I'm not really worried about the defense. It's full of capable players and I think they'll land a good DC.

Fingers crossed, hopes up, and looking forward to a much better season. I think this coming year is going to be much better.

Real question as a new fan, Who is this guy and why a lot of fans believe in him?

He's just a local fan who clearly has a friend or two inside the org who leak info to him that he shares via tweets

Has been about 75% accurate over the past 5-6 years with his "scoops"

Ironically - I think I bought a mobile phone from him once at a Verizon store n Jax before realizing he was this dude

I can relate to his situation because from around 2004-20011 I had friends in the building who would leak things to me that often turned out to have credence, so I know this isn't an unlikely scenario

Considering Dilla claims Trevor doesn't like Press. Is his source Shad or Trevor?

If not, it's just office gossip.

He works at Target (no. Not as a cashier) and apparently used to meet a lot of players working there.

People used to speculate he was buds with Tony Khan but he will never reveal who his source is (obviously).

He had the Ridley trade before anyone. His biggest miss was Leftwich but like you said, he’s generally got good sources.

Well said. I agree as well. It's good to see and hear these discussions are happening. It shows that people care. Khan tried to find the right man for the job to lead his organization. For a brief moment in the sun, it appeared he had done that when he hired on Tom Coughlin at a VP level to oversee the team.

Maybe because of the bad PR and players union issue with Coughlin it's deterred him from trying this route again, but, I honestly think he should consider it within this month or next month. There's viable candidates out there for sure if he's just willing to look, make contact and offer an opportunity.

I’m watching the carton show this morning, and they say the jags should dump pederson and go for Bill Belichick who is apparently out of the patriots job any second now. How wild is that?

I would offer him a VP of Football Operations job without blinking. I don't think he's a good GM but I think he would offer valuable insight to Khan in this role and hold people accountable. Wouldn't hurt getting an NFL rules book guru in the building as well who knows how to game the system.
