I've been proud since Game 1 of the season, when they looked like a team that put in the work during the off-season and wanted to win

Team just has to be more clutch. We way overachieved this year. Bitter end with how close we were but I think we can sustain this and maybe get a top 2 seed and have a chance to do it at home over the next few years hopefully.

This. A whole bunch of this. Aside from the first quarter of the buffalo gane, and a very small of throws the rest of the way, Bortles was locked in, I think he grew up the last two games. He's still gonna have his blake moments, but in my opinion, don't be surprised if he's the unquestioned starter next year.
And I think you saw a group of young players, including blake, take this game really hard. They're gonna use this game, the pain and anger, to get better this offseason and training camp, and hopefully work on the more mental aspects of the game (they played with so much passion this year but imagine if they also played with the same mjndset the pats do, no more standing over guys, they earned that respect they screamed about all year, and teams also know they're tough guys i.e. the seahawks when they where young, or the ravens with a prime ray and reed) we saw this group show the swagger(I hate that term lol), the skill, the heart it takes to get to the top. I think a team like this, where almost everyone is young and genreally the same age, needs to learn how to be elite, and now they know.

TL;DR
These young elite players punched goliath in the mouth, and goliath didn't budge. They take this year and learn from the mistakes, and play with that killer mindset the elites played with. And instead of leaving their hearts and souls on the field each week in the hopes of imprinting their names in the whole leagues minds, and "needing" the respect from their peers and from the fans, they play with the single, solitary goal, of winning this game and one more next year.

They had one hell of a year, no question. A little less ref bias, a little more aggression and urgency late by the offense, and we would have won this last game. I told myself before the game; Win or lose, this was a major success for our team. Nothing changes that. I saw LF was really choked up after the game. I hope he hits the gym, works on his craft, and comes back 2x the player he was this year. I am very happy with the 2017 season.

That was a tough loss. The better team won. I'm not thrilled about the penalties at all but the Patriots executed when the jags didn't.

We of the Pickettville Civic Club would like to award the 2017 Grantland Rice Sportsmanship Award to Marcell Dareus of The Jacksonville Jaguars.

No doubt, many other Jaguars are deserving, but Mr. Dareus earned the award for leaning over to offer a hand up to Tennessee quarterback Marcus Mariota, who had been sacked on the previous play by Jacksonville.

That sports fans is Sportsmanship, that sometimes forgotten but absolutely essential tenet in all sports, professional and amateur.

Thank you Mr. Dareus, and for you, we pray these words of the immortal Grantland Rice.

Thank You Jaguars. What a game! What a team! I could not be prouder. All previous years' sins are forgiven. How long 'til August, 2018.

Runnerup to Marcell Dareus for GR Sportsmanship Award, Leonard Fournette, for helping the DL who just tackled him back to his feet. Some coaches would not allow this. How dumb. Don't they realize LF's chi grew enormously on the effort.

Best blocks (tie) , Fournette and Yeldon, who both pancaked DL's on the rush. WOW, what blocks.

Pay attention, the Jaguars and Tom Couglin are putting the Sportsmanship back in Sports,  from which it has been absent far too long. Put that in your television play by play pipe and smoke it instead of whatever you're smoking now. (Can you say choreographed stupidity and six year old pre-schooler chest thumping?) This is Professional Football NOT Professional Wrestling.

To the officials-If you're gonna call'em against the Jaguars, at least call'em against the Patriots too.

Coach Marrone , Jalen Ramsey and the rest of my heroes of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Please, no more “Terrible Feelings”. Don’t you realize what you guys have done for Jacksonville, and the nation? You guys were the Cinderella team of the decade. You came in as the absolute last team pick, and had’em all quaking in their boots. They were all scared.

Guys, please, stand up and yell. You did it. You did more in a season than the city has been able to do for itself in forty years.

There’s always sadness. Think Alabama-Georgia. A certain Hawaiian kid dashed a lot of hopes for Georgia. For Alabama, he probably cost Jalen Hirts $40,000,000. in signing money.

I’m a 70 year old kid, who couldn’t believe it when you beat Houston, watched you dismember Pittsburg, ran the tale on the west coast,  Pittsburg, again, and had hated New England on the ropes, but LET them tap dance away. It just don’t get much better!

I’ve gotta include one last anecdote. Almost 50 years ago, I was driving my blue '68 Shelby GT500KR convertible daily to college where I parked next to a then unknown basketball players’lavender Cadillac Eldorado convertible. Never a basketball fan, I nevertheless became one.
Of course, the Cadillac belonged to Artis Gilmore, the team JU and they are my heroes still. They lost their shot at the basketball Super Bowl, to John Wooten’s UCLA powerhouse. No one remembers who played in the NCAA final, ‘cause JU had already lost, just like no one will remember this years Super Bowl.
Let us never forget John Wooten used his control of the NCAA to have the dunk shot banned  for two years while the JU teams’ 7 footers had to block shots instead of dunk.
This kid ain’t forgot! Joe Williams, Artis, Pembroke , Chipper, Rex, Greg, this kid ain’t forgot.
 
Damn guys stand up and cheer! You did it! You made us believe again. Maybe fifty years some snot nosed, drooling old football fan will totter to his feet and say Coach Marrone, Jalen, Leonard, Calais, Marcell, THIS KID AINT FORGOT.

You guys have every reason to be proud of your team. To go into Pittsburgh and beat them soundly in a game where the final score made it look closer than it really was and then to go into Foxboro and nearly beating them in the AFC Championship speaks volumes about the players and the coaching staff. Your team definitely has a bright future ahead and I would not be surprised to see a Super Bowl appearance and maybe a win by this team in the next few years. I look forward to seeing a Charger-Jaguar AFC Championship matchup in the near future (enough wth the Patriots!!!!).

Not wishing bad on the Bolts or anything, but I am happy we didn't face you guys in the playoffs.

Of all the teams we beat this year, you guys gave us the hardest time, by far.
