This fan base just loves to cut, or trade people for no reason.

Like talking about trading a 23 year old Pass Rusher in Fowler, when this league is all about rushing the passer and how you can't have enough of them.

It is really not stupid if it lands them the QB they want this draft and when you consider we are already 27M over the cap next season without factoring in rookie class (~6M), Fowler's option (13M), and ASJ deal (5M?)... going to be about 50M above. I'd love for them to keep Fowler, but he is the best tradable piece we have and if they want to get a QB they are in love with Fowler can possibly get them to that pick. By no means is it a "must trade Fowler" thing.

And there will be players let go next season that lowers that cap number. The salary cap will be higher next season, so that'll also lower the number. I also think the professionals who are running this front office have a little more of an idea of what they're doing number wise than any of us.

You trade Fowler and we're one Ngakoue injury away from being back in 2013 as far as our edge rushers go. AKA Nobody. This team hasn't had pass rushers in forever and now you all want to ship away a very promising 23 year pass rusher...

Not much of an answer. For that role , production and upside I'd probably pay 10 million or so per.   

His option is a decent amount more than that and I'm not sure how it fits in with us right now.

I've been saying it for months now.  Hurns is washed up.  I don't know if injuries took their toll or what but he is not the same player.

I like Hurns but $7 million is a lot for a guy who hasn't cracked 500 yards in two straight seasons, and that would make two of those guys at the WR position on the roster

I did tell you what I thought from the very start lol.. I said that it was stupid to even think about shipping off a 23 year old pass rusher.

As far as resigning him goes, like I said, you cross that bridge next off season when it comes. But, I think he'd be very willing to work with this team and sign a team friendly deal. He's a home town Florida kid. Went to HS in Florida, College in Florida and now the NFL in Florida.

I don't think they are in any rush to trade Hurns. Moncrief will have to prove himself in camp and the preseason to earn his deal.

If Hurns plays well in the preseason and Moncrief doesn't, they can cut Moncrief and not be on the hook for anything.

If Moncrief performs like they hope and Hurns doesn't play well enough for a roster spot, then Hurns could go on the trading block late in the preseason. There are always teams at that time of year dealing with injuries that would be interested in a trade.

They could even trade him mid-season up until the trade deadline. Say for instance he plays 5 games with the Jaguars and then gets traded... well, the Jaguars would have to pay his base salary for those five weeks, but then his new team would take over and pay his base salaries for the final 12 weeks.

As for the deadline, Oesher was right as it was worded into his contract. It says it right there on his spotrac page...

Team is all in for 2018. Add fowlers option we are close to 50M over. LOTS of cuts will be made... so many holes on defense will happen because of it. What better than to have a franchise QB who got a year to learn ready to take over?

Hurns saying "blessed" is a sign that he's being traded? You do realize these guys live lives that go beyond just football right? Everything they tweet isn't just about football.
