I would venture to guess, that as the owner of the stadium, he would receive even more of the advertising, parking, concessions money and fee/rental use for other activities hosted at the stadium than you would get as opposed to a City/Municipal ownership would receive...There are many events held in Wembley that would bring a [BLEEP] pot full of money to the owner of the stadium... I don't see this as a bad thing, to me it just looks like Mr Khan has found a way to make a ton of money in addition to the NFL and his other company...If I could own a NFL franchise and buy Wembley Stadium too I'd jump on it, and anyone here on this board would too...Why not make a few hundred million dollars in The United States, AND London too? It's all about investments. It's how the rich get richer. Buy a hot commodity and expand it in order to make more revenue. It's what he did with the Jags. Turned a 600 mil investment into a 1.3 billion one. It's also a leverage move to have the city provide more financial assistance on his vision of the stadium and downtown. And that vision is amazing btw. I don't see us moving anywhere anytime soon. Now, in 5-10 years, if things don't change financially, it could be possible. But right now, he sees an opportunity to own a big landmark that the NFL is trying to take over and an area that is helping to keep the Jags in Jville. Just something to watch; nothing to worry about for now.
Let's Get Em!!!! Go Jags!
Khan just put a dog park inside the stadium, and you guys want a brand new stadium? Cmon now!

Mark Lamping on Wembley: 'Jacksonville drives the Jaguars'

Is Mark Lamping being a conspiracy theorist when he describes an increasing Jaguar presence in London and the ongoing challenges of the Jacksonville market? Was Roger Goodell being a conspiracy theorist when he said in 2014 that the NFL wants a team in London within 5-10 years?
When billionaires want something to happen, it usually happens. Playing a Jaguar game in London every year now seems like the most natural thing in the world. It makes perfect business sense, and Mr. Lamping is happy to show you the charts. And despite the rather shocking news today, the Jaguars owning Wembley Stadium will soon seem like the most natural thing in the world - we are currently being bombarded with all the reasons it makes perfect business sense. And in a few years playing 2 games in London will seem like the most natural thing in the world - staying an extra week makes perfect business sense. I am sure the fans will understand when the day comes when London Jaguars just makes perfect business sense.
Really, really bad timing. Which isn't good business sense wise here locally in Jacksonville. Khan has finally produced a great product here after ten long years of obscurity. I believe in his commitment towards this city and team.
But the timing is just awful. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. It's not used. He isn't going to be making back the 1 billion quickly. Why would they sell it if it made tons of money? They would just take the yearly income, unless someone offers well over market value. No owner is giving a home game up and then not getting the revenue and giving it to Khan. He will get some small %. Unless the NFL is going to start playing a lot of games there or a Super Bowl, this makes 0 sense. Khan could sell to another owner of a team moving, but would the other owners like him making a move like that? More than 1 game will be played there soon, then more or a demand for a new stadium and shipyards. While not an immediate impact, the writing is on the wall and it's going to happen unless the city does what he wants. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk

This is definitely interesting. I wouldn't like it if they moved there, but I think I would stay a fan. It would be a much longer trip to see a game. Right now I'm less than an hour and a half away from the stadium in Jville. I'd probably also have to get Sunday ticket to watch them, plus I guess the games would be in the morning?
Right now it doesn't make any sense to move the team based on the investments in the current stadium, but a new stadium will likely be needed in a few years. I'm pretty sure a few markets have built new stadiums twice since ours was put up.
I'll feel a lot more comfortable when they start breaking ground on the shipyards projects. Pouring half a billion dollars (or more) into improving the area around the stadium would be pretty stupid if you are planning on moving the team. Wouldn't the value of all that work drop exponentially without the Jags?

Smart guy, I hope this makes teams shy away from trying to move there. I do get the impression if someone was trying to force their way into london he would pick moving the jags to london over staying with us and letting London go, but this message does sound like that isn't his goal to move right now. The timing of this media bombshell suggests Khan is reminding Tom Coughlin who he wants drafted in the first round. If Tom doesn't give Khan that person, he'll pack up his team and move to London. If Khan is backed by Gene Frenette and the usual useful idiots like Frangie, etc. then you can be sure they have made THEIR pick and Coughlin had better comply. We don't get umpteen first round BUSTOLAs without the local media's heavy involvement in depicting these lemons in a strange light. Is this a joke? https://youtu.be/EoPdVOMXX0w
