The oline room is tight bunch (have personal friend that's one of players) will be interesting to see how he fits in with group. my opinion as a group they were best in league

The Swiss Army Knife serves nicely as a pressure valve. Too bad the Steelers took him. He is the kind of back Bortles needs frequently.

Despite the ACL tear in Senior Bowl practice, the Jaguars selected Colvin and paid him a salary to nurse himself back to health. He expressed his gratitude by jumping ship first chance he got. Richardson is my favorite pick of the draft for us. The guy is an absolute stud. I doubt he plays any OG, but I believe if he stays clean, he will beat out Jeremy Parnell for the starting RT position. He's younger, cheaper and better in pass protection. His run blocking is pretty darn good too. Had he not had some of the field issues, he would've gone on day 2.

Parnell's coming off the best year of his career ,didn't allow any sacks.

Parnell did have a good year, I'm not saying he didn't, but Richardson is like a younger, cheaper version. Why keep the more expensive, older version of the same player? If Richardson is neck and neck with Parnell after the preseason, the decision will be an easy one. I believe Parnell is gonna have to play significantly better than Richardson to keep his job. No my argument is that I don't see Richardson playing at a similar level to Parnell in year 1. He has a decent sized adjustment from N.C State. To be honest I don't see him at guard either year 1. Although I'd definitely give it a go. I believe he could easily beat Cann, but I just don't see the team kicking him inside. I'm just going to sit back and watch and see how it plays out throughout preseason. If the rookie earns the spot, more power to him. If not, Parnell has been solid as of late. It's a win, win.
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
Parnell when healthy is a very good player and has done very well last season.
That said I have to say that after Richardson selection I've watched a few of the games he played and have to agree: this guy seems to be really good and has the potential to take over for Parnell if 2018 will be his last season here. Certainly great depth/competition to have in any case and will have time to improve his strenght a bit too. I don't think they plan to try him inside instead of Cann at the moment but Marrone/Flaherty love trying out different combination of Olines during training camp so it will be definitely an intriguing storyline to follow. If he shows he can play G too he would pair up well with Parnell and run blocking could really improve on that side too.

He played an integral role on our team that went to the AFC championship and had a top 3 defense last year. He took the money because that's what you should do. Unless he's a closet tack fan, I'm pretty sure he's 13 years old. Completely agree with you on colvin, he had to do what was best for his family and to have an opportunity to play outside for a bigger paycheck. I'm not mad at him. In terms of Richardson, I've got high hopes for him. This draft was ridiculously good.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I've been watching football since the 80s with the 49ers, and Jaguars football since their Inaugural Season. I've been posting on football boards since the '97 season. I'm not saying you can't be a G at 6'6", but 6'6" and taller Gs are more the exception than the rule. Simply put, at that height you need to know they can bend or they won't get the leverage they need against DTs. Fortunately for Richardson, Coughlin was saying he's impressed by his knee bend, and all reports are that he's a dominating run blocker, so he just might work out at G.
