To be honest I think the trend is more about the opposing teams offenses. We become more and more conservative the more Marrone thinks our defense will be able to stop the opposing offense. Oh the Giants, Titans, Jets, Cardinals, etc have their crappy offenses we can turtle and let the defense win it. Often times it works, sometimes it doesn't. But we play a high powered offense it's time to pull out some tricks to keep up.

This. 100 times this. Blake is who he is, an average QB who can win you games if everything else goes well. WRs hurt him early, O-Line got whipped, nonexistent run game(lack of carries) and he was off on a lot of throws too(batted balls an issue). Is his motion regressing again? Even last week, his motion looks elongated, its like once he goes into a live game the mechanics go out the window, especially vs a good/decent rush.

Blake needs everyone around him to be playing well, he does not elevate others.

So who is the best team in the AFC then? Miami? Kansas City? Cincinnati? Anyone really want to argue they're noticeably better than us? I think we're obviously more talented than all 3

We’re not “obviously” more talented than KC.

We are on defense but you see how that works.

Their defense is significantly worse than our offense and I think our D is equally talented to their O

Their defense may be a larger piece of trash than our offense. Would not say "obvious", but even with today I think the nod goes to us.

We wont beat Kansas City

As I'm watching the Patriots get destroyed by the Lions, I'm actually buying into this. I think it's more like the Jags just haven't significantly progressed since last year. It's looking like more of the same. A likely division win and playoff appearance and a mighty struggle against teams that the media will say should beat us. Our only hope is that Bortles gets hot like he did last year and some pieces fall our way. Sigh.

lol who are you so scared of in the AFC? We were without our nickel CB, starting LT, RG, and Top 5 pick RB. Three of those will be back next week so get a grip

I think KC’s defense might be a little better than they’re given credit for.

KC in their first game against the Chargers had a 31-12 lead going into the 4th quarter. Before giving up 16 garbage time points in the 4th.

In their 2nd game on the road against Pitt they jumped out to a 21 point first quarter lead. Yes Pitt tied the game in the second, but allowed only 16 points in the second half while putting up another 21 points of their own. Big Ben is going to get his at home.

Today they were up 35-10 at the half and knocked Jimmy G out for the season. They gave up 17 points in the second half after basically getting an insurmountable lead in the first half.

Their defense doesn’t have to be great when so far their games have been over by halftime.

Well we can start with the Titans who have beaten us 3 times in a row. Ravens, Steelers, Chargers, Tampa Bay, Dolphins, Kansas City and even the Browns, yes the Browns look like they could give us a run for our money. Of course the Patriots will probably completely different team come November, but who knows.

As for the injuries, it's just excuses. That was an ugly loss.

I'm not saying blow up the whole season and call it a day, I'm not freaking out. I'm simply saying that it doesn't look like this team took a significant stride this season as it stands today. I mean, we almost went to the superbowl last year, so that may not even be that big of a deal. But the feeling was a lot more positive after that butt whooping we gave the Pats.

Fair points. But imho, high score o's are something that is hard to sustain in the nfl. You meet Brees or arod in January and try to get in a shootout with them with a weak D and it's going to be a long day. I would rather go toe to toe with heavy hitters when I have a top tier D, but that's just how see it.

Kansas would destroy us easily.

We barely beat the Giants who really suck.

I respect your opinion. The point I was trying to make is that we’re not “obviously” more talented than KC. This offense is starting to resemble a certain “Greatest Show on Turf” imo and we know how that played out...

Yeah, still early but KC & Rams offense seems to be the best so far.
