I doubt Tom is concerned about  to move up to get Haskins.  A good chance there is player just as good or better we can get after

Haskins is better than Geno and Teddy but remember tank for Geno and tank for Teddy? Lol, I do

Man we were in 6th, and 3 teams ahead of us have won/are winning. What a Pyrrhic victory...

My only philosophy is I want as many options available as possible when we go on the clock. Once the season is over at least.

All we have to do is get ahead of the Giants and they won today as well, so they're only a couple spots ahead of us. We really didn't lose any ground on them.

never know with trades with other teams, but it's important to AT LEAST be high enough to get one of the top two QBs (Herbert or Haskins) with no trade by us needed

right now, only Oakland and NYG (assuming H2H is the tie-breaker) are ahead of us, with Cincy and maybe TB a game behind

we aint catching Oakland, hopefully they'll want a pass rusher with their first

The continued presence of a player a poster on a message board wants beyond the Jaguars' projected pick does not, in any way, negate the inherent advantage of having superior draft position, which leads to access to a larger talent pool.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

I would be completely shocked if the Raiders took a QB with their first pick. That defense is abysmal and they have a shot at either Bosa or Oliver. I can't see them passing on either. Cincy is not gonna take a QB either. I live in the Cincinnati area and they have the worst ranked defense in the NFL. They are definitely gonna go defense. Tampa is probably gonna go QB. They are as bad off as we are at the position. Jameis Winston is erratic and unreliable and lacks maturity off the field. I would be surprised if he was still in Tampa Bay in 2019.

Couldn't disagree more about Cincy. Their defense is bad, but their window has also closed. It's time for them to rebuild and that obviously starts with the QB. Not sure what's left on Dalton's contract, but they'd be foolish not to try and find a franchise guy. Hope you're right about them though, takes one suitor off the board. TB is a wildcard and Oakland can get out of Carr's massive contract after this year. But I'm with you and pretty sure Gruden would want to start building a defense like he had in TB.

All I can tell you is that 90% of my friends are Bengals fans and no one is mentioning taking a QB. They are all clamoring for defensive help and the local sports stations are saying the same thing.

Why are we comparing Haskins to only black QBs?

From what I've seen, he looks more like Big Ben.

That's the cool thing about philosophies, variables like specific players don't matter. More players available = good is a constant.

Didn't winning games in a lost season cost us Andrew Luck?

Regardless of color I think he reminds me of a faster Byron Leftwich with his bigger body, quick release, and the way he under throws his WR when throwing downfield

smells like bait...
but I'll just leave this here
Pro Comparison: Teddy Bridgewater

People often misdiagnosed Bridgewater as a running quarterback. This is not true. While he could move when he had to, the former Pro Bowler always wanted to throw first. He had an underrated arm and consistently found his receivers when they were open. He also seemed to elevate his play in big games, having that competitive mental toughness. Their sizes are similar and they tend to excel in the same type of offenses.

While I agree that Teddy was the furthest thing from a running QB you can get, I do think he had/has limitations with his arm strength. IMO, Haskins has much better arm talent and a much sturdier frame to handle the punishment of taking NFL hits. Teddy had/has a very thin lower body which has always concerned me. He is mentally tough, but physically, I always thought he needed to add lower body strength to absorb those hits.
