There is already a thread about this, and it should be moved to the league region that discusses free agents.

Nick Foles' wife hints at Jaguars signing

Basically she has recently followed Jacksonville business suggesting future move and decorating...

I like the signing. Foles was the Super Bowl MVP just a year ago. He played well last year--well enough that there was actually a debate among Eagles fans who wanted to keep Foles over Wentz. He's a huge upgrade over Bortles--no one can deny that.

I'd love to draft Haskins (even if we sign Foles) but my guess is that he'll be gone before pick 7--either to the Giants (probably) or another team that trades up to get him. I'm fine with that. Let's use that first pick to get the BAP - I hope a TE or RT to replace Parnell. And if you really want to draft a QB, why not trade back into later in the first round - grab Grier, and stock up the roster with extra picks?

I STILL don't buy Foles. He's better than Bortles, yes, but we've got to draft a QB, and I'm not sure we'll be this high in the order next time around. Honestly, I'm not opposed to Lock+Foles, because I think Lock's going to be very good after sitting for a while. But ideally, Haskins is who I want.

Agree -- but it's all over the media today so there must have been some type of release to one of the media outlets to have everyone breaking the story or piggybacking off other stories.

Exactly, we need to draft someone like Gabbert or Bortles.  That worked pretty well.

I think the one think that is underrated in all this is his accomplishments and experience. As cocky as this defense is Foked let's his play do the talking with multiple nfl records a ring, and a SB MVP. I think Foles will lead by example and ha the ring to back it up and for the guys to look at for motivation

Looks like we finally get a winner and a franchise QB. God is good, its time this franchise deserves it

Foles isn't a franchise QB.  If he was, the Eagles would have tagged and traded him.  If he was, there would be interest from more than one team.

Thank you!

Foles is not a franchise QB. He’s really not even close. He had a couple really great playoff games that is being propped up as if he did it his whole career.

Nearly everyone is piggybacking off the Philly Inquirer story. Graziano does list them as a source, but does name drop Dirocco. So that would suggest 1 source from Philly and 1 from the Jags. No one is naming names or giving anything specific though because of potential tampering allegations and penalties. I don't see how the Jags avoid that right now though.

He thinks Foles is gonna be a top 10 QB here so you won't get through to him..he wanted to give him 25 million a year if we had to.

The thing is, who else would Foles realistically sign with other than the Jags? We are his only real option to be a starter next year.

Yes, we should never draft a QB again and just keep grabbing other team's castoffs because it hasn't worked out before.

I don't expect Foles to be a top 10 quarterback. I expect him to be a significant upgrade over Bortles. I expect him to be effective enough so that are RBs aren't facing 6 or 7 man boxes on defenses. What other veteran QB can deliver that for us? Bridgewater? Tannehill (sp)? I think having Foles old OC here in Jax is a big plus, and will aid in his success.

If Haskins is available, draft him. But he probably won't be. So then what? In that case, our options remain the same regardless of whether we have Foles or not.

I agree, I don't want a long term contract--something that will hurt our cap. I don't think that's going to happen.

I do, we just have to get him some help through the draft and get the running game back on track.

Wash, NY, Mia.  I do think there was a mutual agreement with Fokes though saying they wouldnt tag him if he went out of the division

By the way, why are people treating Haskins as almost a sure thing, while casting doubt on Foles? Haskins has never thrown a pass in the NFL. There's no guarantee--or anything even close---that says Haskins is going to pan out.

We all know Foles' upside. It's been established, in the Super Bowl. Can't say the same thing about H.

I don't understand these people who say bring in Bridgewater or Tyrod Taylor and then draft a QB at 7??? Have you seen Bridgewater and Tyrod play? I'd take Bortles over those guys all day and twice on Sunday.

Jags are in place to win now and bringing in Foles is the best option.

If I recall correctly, the Jags never signed a Free Agent to be our Starting QB

Brunell - aquired via trade
Leftwich - drafted
Garrard - drafted
Gabbert - drafted
Bortles - drafted

To me, aquiring Foles is almost like having 2 top 10 picks in the draft since we can now target Hockenson or a top OL or WR.

Exactly, Bortles is better than both and I'm not even a Bortles fan
