Jalen Ramsey has asked for trade (merged)

Work-life balance. We’ve all been there before. Yes, he needs to be there for his child, but that does not excuse him from walking away from his work responsibilities for an extended period of time. A reasonable expectation is that he will be back to work next week, assuming there are no medical complications, just like the vast majority of NFL players who end up having a child born during the season.

People have kids every day, so much so, that the planet has too many people and a lot of perfectly good kids are out there in foster care who need families. 3. Do you really think that is the case here? Really? 4. No. I expect him to do his job and then go home to his family, just like men have done for generations.

At least he made the first one so his girlfriend gave birth before the regular season. You actually can plan for children and when you are paid millions of dollars to play a game, I expect you at work, if you are physically able. For God sakes, the man only works half a year! These games are for real and the team is paying him a lot of money to be on the field, helping win games. Again, I'm not telling SOMEONE to go back to work the day a after their kid is born. I am telling a FATHER who only lives an hour away from his home and makes A LOT of money, to go back to work. You can either chose to have kids during the season and be fined game checks or have them in the off season and receive full pay. If I am a team owner, it is my business what he does after the baby is born, because I'm paying him to be at work. If he isn't there, that is an offense that they could fine him for. Well, um, that’s very similar to how it works. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! But will show up to play while still with Jags. Dude, you've got some wacky hot takes on this subject. Personally, this isn't the hill on which I'd choose to die. Maybe you should tweet at him: "Hey Jalen, why didn't you wear a condom? Why didn't you consider OUR feelings as fans when you were having relations with your lady? Where's the responsibility?"
I'll play you in ping pong.

Also, there is such a thing called Paternity leave so you can miss work. The length of paternity leave is different for each career. I'm a PE teacher and I get about 3 weeks or so. Again. This is a subject that you know very little about so it's best to not comment on it. You're "points" make zero sense.

My boss offered me two weeks off paid when my son was born. It wasn't company policy or anything - he just felt it was the right thing to do.

I'm pretty pissed at the way this whole Ramsey situation has played out over the last week but some of the takes on children in this thread are...um...interesting.

I recall a player recently missing the MNF or SNF game for the birth of a child. ONE game I think is realistically acceptable during the season.
No pain, no gain.

How do we know it’s even Ramsey’s baby?!? Ain’t nobody in Ramsey’s family got knees like dat!! DNA test!
Hahahaha some of you guys are wild.
I think I took 2 days off but that was 20 years ago. Seems different these days and it's extremely difficult to questions a man's decisions in regards to his family. |
