Gardner Flint Minshew II - (merged threads)

One other thing I was thinking about today....how much of Minshew's success should also be given to Coach Flip since he has been a great QB coach in the past? Obviously a lot of it is due to Minshew's ability but I think Coach Flip's impact on him shouldn't be overlooked. He deserves a lot of credit as well.

He's trusting him with the football in tough situations. Most coaches would hesitate. He seems to embrace it. Minshew reminds me of a slower Russell Wilson with his accuracy and scrambling ability
It occurred to me this morning that one of the things I like and appreciate most about GMll is that he LOVES football. He loves everything about it and all he's ever wanted to do is play the game and someday be a coach. He's said it in interview after interview. He's not in it for the payday, though that never hurts, he's in it because he loves it and wants to be the best player and teammate he can be....and have tons of fun while he's at it.
To me that, on top of his obvious knowledge of the game and ability to act and react with instincts most players only dream of having, makes him a complete athlete/QB. In many ways his value to the Jags is priceless and that's something we haven't had in a QB in a very, very long time. If ever. Brunell being the last one I can think of. I'm not crowning GMll as our savior and future HOF QB, I'm just saying the kid has something special on and off the field and I'm grateful he's on our field. That love for the game is an enthusiasm thats been lacking on the offensive side. Him and Fournette's leadership growth are really starting to push this offense to new heights on and off the field. Finally the defense doesnt have to be the heart and soul of this team. That burden can be spread to the offense.

Maybe bring back McGough? Or Tanner Lee? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
This kid is going to win Rookie of the year. First time ever this team will have one.
Taylor was close to winning it vs Moss in 1998. MJD was close to winning in 2006 vs Young.
If Foles is done and this FO and HC get another year because of Minshew, then this organization will ruin him and we'll be irrelevant another decade.

So Foles gets injured and they make a GREAT pick with Minshew and they should be gone, but they somehow suck. Makes perfect sense to me. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users.
