Thats because there is no debate. Gene was single-handedly the worst GM this team has ever experienced. When you get trounced by three division opponents consecutively no one is safe from blame.

Plenty of years of crap worse than this. Anyways, I'm done. Caldwell has had more time, money and top draft picks than anyone and here we are. Don’t give me names of your favorite players as proof of his success. There is maybe 5 players on this roster we can build around. That’s record setting failure. (11-24-2019, 08:01 PM)enigma Wrote:(11-24-2019, 07:57 PM)EricC85 Wrote: You mean the 2011 season? Imagine inheriting the flaming pile of [BLEEP] Gene leaves you. Think bud, think.
Gene took a punter in round 3 and some people were saying it was smart because he was a starter!

You're saying that what we're seeing is because of a purge 6 years ago and then also saying he's had plenty of time to fix it and failed. This is contradiction.
Alright it’s not worth arguing, I’ve made my hatred of Caldwell known for a while at least it’s coming to an end.

I always go back to us having that great year, almost going to the Super Bowl, then letting damn near everyone go. He felt they had the formula and instead of keeping players that we should have they traded and let them go elsewhere. You're right. I guess we are going to keep getting the same results
Dude please let it go.
Who are we missing from 2011-12 that would help this team right now?

Dave has had 7 drafts now. A competent GM could have blown it up, built it back, blown it up again, and built it back to at least the level we're at right now in 7 drafts.
