Nazi is a state of mind, not an ideology. Socialism or communism are ideologies.  A Nazi doesn't care about how much of the economy is under the government's control. A Nazi just wants all government power to be invested in a strong dictator, and he will call you unpatriotic or worse if you dare say anything bad about the leader, and God help if you're not the same religion or ethnicity as the leader..

This is hilarious.

Rational words sound bizarre to bizarre people.

The prosecution goes first.
After the prosecution rests, the defense has its turn.
Does that sound rational or bizarre to you?

I hope it was rational because the next part is like it but just a little more complicated... If the people subpoenaed by the prosecution show up to answer questions under oath, the people subpoenaed by the defense should do the same.
However, if the prosecution does not get a fair response to its subpoenas, neither should the defense.

So, practically, Biden has no obligation to respond if Bolton and Mulvaney and Pompeo do not respond.

Round and round we go. Biden does not have Executive Privilege as does Trump. It will be great to watch Trump destroy him at the debates over this.

By your logic, the Senate should hold a secret trial in the basement and drive a false narrative through selective leaks.

What's your opinion on how Nazism fits in a political spectrum? Did I say anything false? Is your  view informed by facts? Have you ever done a comparative study of how Lenin dealt with, say, labor unions, compared to how Hitler dealt with them?

Executive privilege means whatever five justices on the supreme Court says it means. And I don't think they'll agree with your definition, or with Trump's.

If you don't think Senators are discussing their next move behind closed doors right now, I suggest that's naive.

The House did discuss Trump/Ukraine behind closed doors.  Then they held public hearings.  Then they voted.  The Senate is basically going to do the same thing. They will cycle between closed and open door meetings,, until they finally vote on the articles.

You did that on your way to your engineering degree, did ya? It's intimidating to argue with such a learned fellow.

Before I yield to your intellectual prowess, can you answer this question for me? Are governments only socialist if they followed Lenin's protocols with, say, labor unions? If the answer is no, then then why would one bother doing such a study?

The answer is no, but the reason the study would be meaningful anyways is that Nazism did not last on this earth long enough for us to understand its equilibrium condition. We learn meaningful things about Nazism based upon what they did, and what they did was always steps towards implementing some final state. so we can only compare it to things that the Soviets did as they were first implementing their agenda.

also maybe you shouldn't be assuming things about people based on the degree they hold?

I know you're being sarcastic about me having intellectual prowess and being learned, but, maybe I am, compared to you, and maybe I'm not. But even if I hold a master's degree in history, I could be wrong about this, and you could be right.

Nazis required mothers to hold their infants over their heads to present a better target for the executioners. They made it more efficient by just having them hold them over their chests so they could kill both with only a single bullet. No one should ever compare a poster on this message board, even by insinuation, to those despicable people.

That's true, but the German Nazis in the late 1930s and early 1940s were far from the only ones committing these types of crimes. People of other ideologies did very similar things at that moment in history. We don't usually define things by characteristics that are not unique to those things.

My ancestors on my dad's side came to the US from the Dniester river valley in the early 1920s. They were Jews. They had just escaped a conflict between the USSR (which was still in a civil war between Soviets and non-Soviets) and Romania for control of their homes.
We lost a lot of cousins to the second world war, some in mass graves. But they mostly died at the hands of the Romanians. The Romanians dug a trench, stripped them naked, had them stand next to the trench, then shot them so they fell into the trench, one naked body on top of another. You can find similar stories of minorities getting killed by Poles, Serbs, Bulgarians, Hungarians, etc. These Romanians were not Nazis. They did not believe in German racial superiority. They were not patriotic towards Germany. They did not have any unified ideology about representative government versus dictatorship, or private economy versus public, or freedom of trade versus autarky. Some of them really hated Jews, but it was mostly Jews near the border with Ukraine who got killed - because these Jews were believed to be more friendly towards Russian / Ukrainian/Soviets. Jews living closer to the center of Romania tended to survive the second world war. German troops did transit through Romania and they did advise Romanian troops, but Jews in Romania only died if the Romanian army wanted them to die.

So what you're saying, effectively, is that because Eastern European countries engaged in genocide it's perfectly fine to insinuate that a poster on this message board is a Nazi. See, you turn yourself around so badly with your hubris that you end up in a morally bankrupt conclusion then you have to double down to try and talk your way out of it. It's never acceptable to call the people of this community Nazis, it's a bridge too far. Period.

I'm saying it's bizzarre, in this context, for you to focus on genocide when someone mentions Nazis.
RJ  compared JJ's repeated and bald faced lying to what a Nazi would do.  He said 'you are lying like a Nazi'.  He did not say 'you are murdering innocent people like a Nazi' or 'you are overthrowing duly elected governments like a Nazi'.  You're overreacting.
If I say, "Florida sports god cooks like my mother," I'm not saying that he works the stove while wearing a polyester dress and an old pink apron.  I'm not saying that he ever gave birth or breastfed anyone.  I'm just complimenting his cooking.
