That's a good choice. His combine was not the best and he's not your prototypical pass rusher. He'd be a solid replacement for Yannick if he's traded.

He would be more of a replacement for Campbell.  I like Epenesa more than most and one of the more underrated players in this class imo.  He can rush the passer and good against the run.  He is one of those guys that has been good at every level, was a top 5 recruit coming out of High School and he really turned it on at the end of the season.  Would be a steal in the 2nd

Was Josh Jones available at 20 in this scenario?

If so, I wuld have rather taken Josh Jones at 20 and a guy like Aiyuk in the 2nd as opposed to the USC tackle.  In other words the difference between Jones and Jackson is freater than the difference between Jefferson and Aiyuk.

I'd love this draft, although Lamical isn't dropping that far and there's no reason to take more than one running back or tight end. CB was not addressed until late. I don't think Hand can assume the #1 corner spot, let alone be a starter right away. Big gaping hole in the secondary. I have no doubt Caldwell wants to target a starting CB with #20 or by trading back into the first round.

I don't think Jefferson projects as well at the NFL level. He was good at high pointing the ball with Burrow's pinpoint accuracy. That said, I don't want a slot receiver in the first round. I want a potential #1 receiver like Jeudy or Lamb or Mims if I'm using that kind of draft capital.

Benito Jones would be great. I think Dave is committed to Taven being the gap-penetrating tackle, so he's just making sure with the Al Woods signing and hopefully a fatty like Jones that teams can't gash us in the run next year.

I tried to keep more offense early. Decided to go safety there just because there isn’t a lot of depth in that position this draft, but agree that they’ll be targeting CB early. They definitely won’t be making 12 picks in this draft (at least I hope not) so had to double down somewhere. But I actually don’t hate if they went dual backs this year if they still have an abundance of mid round picks. Fournette shouldn’t get a second contract and Armstead is meh. McFarland would give us that speedy scat back we dont have and Perine would compliment that well, but yeah, he’s not lasting that long.

That one at least looks realistic early. Most of them just look like guys wanting to brag about the algorithms messing up the most and giving us the best silly haul.

I dont see Winfield being there in the 2nd. I'd honestly be ok with him at 20 depending on who is available and I think he will be the 1st safety taken and will be drafted in the 20s

You think he goes before McKinney?
I still like McKinney a lil more, but they are essentially the same player. Interchangeable at both safety spots. And depending on what happens at 9 and in the rest of FA I wouldn't be mad with either at 20 probably. But would be ecstatic with either at the top of round 2

Kiper's latest has the Jags taking Winfield at 20.

Grain of salt. He doesn't have McKinney in the first round...
However, McShay has the 'boys picking McKinney at 17 and doesn't have Winfield in the first.

Speaking of fun and no one knowing [BLEEP] lol
Here's my latest, post Eifert signing.

1:9 - WR Jerry Jeudy, Alabama (Opt for a WR opposite Chark instead of Brown here, Conley rotates in with him while rookie gets acclimated, Jeudy can also play in the slot)
1:20 - DL Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina (Value meets some need here, good pairing with Woods vs run or with Bryan vs pass)
2:10 - OT Josh Jones, Houston (Pushes Cam to G or LT in waiting for 2021)
3:9 - CB Bryce Hall, Virginia (Possible CB1)
4:10 - RB Lamical Perine, Florida (LF replacement, good CoP back for 2020)
4:31 - TE Harrison Bryant, Florida Atlantic (Eifert signing doesn't mean we don't need a TE, and Bryant offers skill as a blocker not just a receiver)
4:34 - C Darryl Williams, Mississippi State (C/G flexibility, can play RG, possible C of future)
5:11 - NT Benito Jones, Mississippi (situational rotation player, NT for 2021)
5:19 - FS Jeremiah Dinson, Auburn (depth/competition at FS for Wilson)
6:10 - EDGE Jonathan Garvin, Miami (Bit of a project but could develop into a late round gem)
6:27 - CB Stanford Samuels III, Florida St. (depth/ST)
7:9 - TE Luke Farrell, Ohio State (In line blocking TE only really, but James O could start season on PUP. TE group would be Oliver, Eifert, Bryant, Farrell, James O PUP with Farrell perhaps going to PS after James O comes back)

With 8 picks from round 4 and later I definitely see us moving up and around in the earlier rounds using some of these extra picks... but I don't do mocks with trades cuz they can get even crazier.

Made a ton of trades in this one. Bummed out though. Did NOT mean to select Anthony Gordon there at QB with the 10th overall pick from the 4th RD. Wanted Jordyn Brooks - LB - Texas Tech there. My mistake. Didn't catch it until after I realized I selected Steven Montez at QB out of Colorado later on. Doh!

Started with 12 selections. Turned it into 19. If we're rebuilding we might as well get some prospects in here to make the back half and cheaply this training camp and pre season period.

It would kind of make sense if it was Fulton at 28, McKinney at 42, and Kmet at 73

This mock is bad on several levels. I agree with you about the Kmet pick. There were several other players I'd much rather have. Espinesa would have been my pick at that spot; Tee Higgins would have also been preferable along with others. I wouldn't be pleased if they take Kinkaw with Brown on the board. McKinney would be a great pick, but this is the 1st mock that he has been taken as late as pick 73. No way he lasts that long.

I dont think McKinney will last to the 3rd but I do think he will be the 3rd safety off the board and probably be there at our 2nd round pick.

So this will stir up some potential controversy with the how my latest mock draft worked out. Check it out:

Pick 9: Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama
Pick 20: Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama
Pick 42: Grant Delpit, S, LSU
Pick 73: Bryce Hall, CB, Virginia
Pick 116: Solomon Kindley, OG, Georgia
Pick 137: Leki Fotu, DL/DT, Utah
Pick 140: Hakeem Adeniji, OT, Kansas
Pick 165: Lamical Perine, RB, Florida
Pick 170: Lamar Jackson, CB, Nebraska
Pick 189: Tyler Clark, DL/DT, Georgia
Pick 206: Michael Divinity Jr., DE/LB, LSU
Pick 223: Mitchell Wilcox, TE, South Florida

Decided to choose Ruggs at #9 to see how things shook out and to my surprise Jeudy was available at #20 - so I went ahead and took him there to go all out on our offensive attack and support our QB ala the Chiefs. If Delpit is at 42, I'm taking him there 100% of the time. And from there, I think the majority of my picks lined up with good value and player projection. Divinity is someone who I'm not too incredibly fond of but decided to take a shot at #206. Wilcox at #223 since TE isn't a pressing need anymore, plus I'm expecting Oliver to emerge and make solid impact along with Eifert (if healthy).

ABOUT US
The Jungle Forums is the Jaguars' biggest fan message board. Talking about the Jags since 2006, the Jungle was the team-endorsed home of all things Jaguars.

Since 2017, the Jungle is now independent of the team but still run by the same crew. We are here to support and discuss all things Jaguars and all things Duval!
