Early Mocks...Post and Debate

(03-30-2020, 10:49 AM)JagJohn Wrote: So my buddy back in the UK is doing the NFLUK mock draft as the Jags. He's actually a Ravens fan, so he's been asking me for advice on the Jags picks (some of which he's followed, some of which he's totally ignored lol).

He's just made our 3rd round pick. How would you grade his draft so far?

1.09 - OT Jedrick Wills
1.20 - CB Kristian Fulton
2.10 - WR KJ Hamler
3.09 - DT Justin Madubuike

Here's the link so you can see who was gone/available at each pick: https://twitter.com/NFLUKMock

Personally, I think the draft didn't fall particularly well for the Jags, but he did a decent job improving both sides of the ball. Fine with Wills at 9. Fulton at 20 will cause some debate but I think he'll be a good pro and a #1 corner. KJ Hamler adds an extra dynamic to our passing game (I think he's being massively overlooked due to no official 40 time, it could have been sub 4.3). Madubuike is a steal in the 3rd.

Overall I'd say B+. What say you?

Yea solid B I think. None of the sexy trendy names of late like Becton and Mims and Ruggs, but those guys are as rock solid as it gets. Hamler is definitely undervalued I agree

I'm semi-ok with Fulton, but not with Jackson at 20. I don't like reaching for needs and Jackson just isn't good, seems like a great story and an incredibly selfless guy...

Additional FAs:

McShay's latest mock 4.0 ruined my morning. If we wind up with Herbert, Aiyuk (who I quite like actually just not at 20), and Gallimore with our first 3 picks we should bring out the pitchforks.

I highly doubt that the draft will play out like that for us.

I think Caldwell is gonna slam it out of this park.

Not terrible though.

I wouldn"t mind EJ Epenesa or Yetur Gross-Mator if one slide to the second round.

Out of those two I prefer Epenesa for the Jags.  I think Gross Matos is more like Yann, but with more length.  He's a speed and finesse guy.  I'd prefer Epenesa's power to combine with Allen's mix of power and finesse.
