Honestly, I can't imagine this isn't being done on purpose. Not so much that it's a conspiracy, but that these cities are being run and taxed into the ground, and this kind of chaos gives leadership a pass of sorts.

Maybe the exodus will also change the rioters SLASH protestors viewpoint when their company moves and they don't have a job. If they don't have jobs, we (the people working) can give them $600.00 per week on top of their unemployment ... That way they don't have to get up early to go to work the next day, and can continue protesting late into the night.

Take away the money, and you take away their means to continue ruining their city. Otherwise, why not put an ad in the local paper ... Protestors wanted $600.00+ per week.

It has come down slightly in the past 2 months.
True, we are paying some of these people to sit at home, but it's just the normal stimulus payments, not the extra unemployment payments.
only the people who lost their jobs in March and April are getting those extra payments, and if they ever turn down work, or fail to look for work, they will no longer get those payments.
And all this is also true in Florida anyway. It's true in most states. The law works the same, and the job losses due to the pandemic are about the same. If extra unemployment benefits explained everything, then the protests in Florida would be just as bad as those in Oregon.

My husband and I were discussing the riot protests in Portland and I told him I'd seen video coverage from a local news station there reporting. All those people were doing was walking around like they were bored, though it did get cranked up later when some douche set fire to a construction trailer. I told him this is what happens when people are laid off their jobs due to Covid and get paid $600 a week. They're bored so they loiter  and wait for something to happen. It's ridiculous.

Personally, I think I'm too lazy to riot in this COVID era. Seems like a lot of work to me. Right now, I just roll out of bed, take a shower, put on boxers and a tank top, and log into my computer 12 feet from my bed to work from home.

As opposed to "essential" people like me that roll out of bed, drink a cup of coffee, take a shower, grab some breakfast and go to my job at "0 dark thirty" every day (Monday - Friday) and work at my place of employment.

I'm not black and never once experienced any of this "privilege" that these protestors communists are rioting about.  Nothing was given to me, I earned every bit of it (along with a hard working wife).

I feel bad for not only the owners of businesses being destroyed by these protestors communists, but also the hard working men and women that these people employ(ed).  Those are the people that are suffering the worst.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  It's time to put a stop to these protestors communists by whatever means necessary.  Put the tear gas and rubber bullets away.

to the extent that one can draw a lesson from the 1905 to 1919 continuous revolutions in Russia, it's that shooting communist protesters as they try to walk down or across streets will always makes things worse, not better.
when conservatives prevailed in 1848 and in 1870 in Europe, it was because they yielded certain cities to the protesters, then put those places under siege.
It's a long game, and shooting at the first people who tick you off is not the way to win it.
