Some TV analyst who has never held the position before, like Todd McShay or Mel Kiper Jr. could probably do a better job than Caldwell.

Obviously at this point, it's apparent it hasn't worked out - but moves have been made like bringing in Coughlin to head up the football operations and make those tough football decisions from player personnel to coaching retention/attrition. Speaking more recently, it sucks that Coughlin's second tenure here didn't work out for us and his decisions continued the trend to leave us in bad shape. The house-cleaning is closer than people think.
I'm sitting here about to watch this game thinking, Go Seattle! because we get Vikings pick, but then my head takes over and says, does it really matter?

If/when they all get fired, does anybody here actually have any faith in Khan finding/hiring somebody new that's any good? I sure as hell don't. The situation doesn't look good regardless. I wouldn't trust him no, but the devil we know is very bad...the devil we don't know might be good might be bad. Maybe we get lucky. We show less advertisements to registered users. But he appears to be the scapegoat for the putrid culture of the team. Ironically, it doesn't seem any better since he has gone. The house-cleaning is less than 3 months away.

Not to mention the huge contract he gave Joe Schobert who misses tackle after tackle and we're stuck with this guy for at least the 2021 season. Henderson was regressing before he got hurt and Chaisson is proving week after week he's not a 4-3 DE. These are just the moves he made this season. Caldwell is a bum, who set this franchise back another 3 years. Oh for [BLEEP] sake, you really gonna pull the "regressed" card on a rookie after 4 games? Geez, legit gripes a plenty and you pick two guys who've played 8 games? Be better. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

We drafted him to be a game changing DE in a 4-3 system at a position and scheme he is unfamiliar with. That was a typical boneheaded move by Caldwell.
Often it seems like we draft or acquire folks and try and force them into our system vs what they came from. Look at Jack last year vs this year. Smart orgs just don’t do that, they play to a players strengths.

Chaisson is clearly playing out of position and is totally lost. Anyone who knows anything about football can see that. He's getting hung up on blocks, coming off the edge. He's used to blitzing and playing in space. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to see he's a square peg trying to fit in a round hole. As for Henderson, he looked good in his first game and was getting completely dominated from then on, until his injury. That is a fact. When you get rid of all the secondary talent around him, fans expect immediate dividends out of a top 10 pick, because we have absolutely nothing else in the secondary. The owner should be sacked. Maybe we need the team to be owned by a multi-generational American who knows what NFL is and isn't.

So perhaps some of his swings and misses (and I'm not counting Chaisson as a miss yet) are because of poor coaching strategies? Maybe we need the team to be owned by a multi-generational American who knows what NFL is and isn't. Skins have been perennially bad since Snyder took over really. Lions, bad more seasons than not (and they got the #1 pick and got a franchise QB in Stafford back in the day). Browns factory of sadness and even at 4-1 they could still finish bad this year. Thing is, these owners care about winning as much as it affects their bottom line. Just field a team, people will watch and buy, and it makes them money. Winning really only matters to the people's whose jobs are on the line, and the fans. I mean, ego maniacs like Jerry Jones probably cares about winning more than a guy like Khan but outside of that, it's just business to them. A money maker and probably a way of getting a huge tax break (tax code laws change often but I know they've had tax breaks before associated with owning franchises). Khan is relatively young as an NFL owner. Still plenty of time for him to get the right people in place. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! A just okay game in week 2 (think herndon got whipped more often than Henderson) and didn't look good in week 3. Then got hurt in the 1st quarter of game 4.
Yeah, this is a hall of fame post. We won 1 game this year. Thanks Mr. Cauldwell.
