One thing I notice when i watch Jake Luton on tape..

No hope on outcomes with anyone under center for this iteration of team dysfunction.

Fans deserve better. Thanks for all the good times too many are in the past.

Was hoping Luton had some sort of rushing upside, had never watched a game of his so I checked the stats. Luton had -87 yards last season on the ground and -144 the year prior. That is NEGATIVE yards by the way. Legit zero upside on the ground. That is kind of scary with this O line. Used to watching Minshew atleast work some magic in the pocket, a sitting duck is going to open some eyes on just how bad this O line is.

I did read comments that the Jags are expected to open up the offense and throw the ball down field with Jake. They seem to believe in him, which is nice. Jake also said that he and Gardner are supportive to each other and Gardner is willing to help him however he can. Jay did mention that it will not be an easy task for Jake going up against the Texans this week, especially since he hasn't called a play in the huddle since training camp. But hopefully things will work out fine and he'll have a nice showing. Here is Jake's press conference from today:

(sigh) I can't get excited about new QB prospects anymore. I've been disappointed too many times.

Good luck, Jake. Enjoy while you can.

If he's an old school "statue QB", he's going to get slaughtered.

Exactly. I can get excited about Luton. I can not get excited about Glennon.

As long as he helps us keep losing games, I'm all for it. The last thing we need is for him to fluke us into one/two extra wins and screw up our draft position.

For us to even hope for a full coaching/GM housecleaning, we must lose and lose in embarrassing fashion. No close losses, no gradual improvement, no "we are just one or two plays away from victory" scenarios. We must lose in spectacularly awful fashion to aquire the QB, coach and GM needed to move forward in a positive direction.

This kid has only had to compete against our defense in practice, so basically he's never had to go against a real NFL caliber defense. Not sure what to expect this week. I'm sorry to say this, but I'm hoping for whatever convinces Kahn that the coaching staff that he has amassed is a house of cards and is totally inept.

Do we end up with a picture like last year during training camp where Minshews helmet got blown off? Dude better be ready to toss it up soon as he calls hike... haha

Well, he looks the part at least. Tall, good looking, typical white guy vibes. This might work

As big as he is, he might be harder to bring down. Hopefully Fournette didn’t hex him.

Preseason or not, if the line doesn't protect and from looking at his college stats he apparently doesn't move, he could get blasted....

With our West Coast offense, he just needs to make the read and get it out fast.  Minshew still holds the ball too long, so I don't have high expectations for the rookie.
This is a results-oriented business.  There are no trophies or titles given for "moral victories" or for "winning the draft".  Our record with DC is 37-86.  6-10 is our 2nd best season in 8 years of Caldwell leadership.  These are the FACTS.

He's 6'6" and should be able to see the field a bit better than Minshew, also has a stronger arm.  I hope 1st play of the game we see a PA deep to Chark or Cole
