I'd be OK with Rick Smith. He drafted Watt and Hopkins. Nuff said. Texans always had a better than average roster but no QB. Having #2 pick to compete with Minshew and insert veteran retread (not named Glennon) should solve that riddle. 

The real debate is Fields vs. BYU QB. Discuss... Unless we're talking about Ryan Grigson, a blue-chip QB can cover over a lot of GM miscues. Manning kept Polian employed for many years after he lost his touch.

This! He’s a good guy, but he’s lacking physical things needed at the position. Time for everyone to let him go. We have sucked so badly as the position, when we get something decent, we think that’s it. He’s not the guy.

Maybe Boselli was just being a homer, but I remember him also vigorously defending Luke Joeckel forever.  This is particularly disturbing considering you would expect offensive line, if anything, to be his area of expertise.  I can't believe he's a serious candidate, but I've heard commentators on the radio saying that they would support him or at least would be alright with him.  I think he would be just awful.

Can't stand the guy, but if he gets hired by the Jags and takes them to the playoffs all will be forgiven. No doubt that the guy can coach.

Normally, you hire a GM and they hire their own coaching staff. Who knows what we will do though. This team is anything, but normal.

This!   It’s almost like this team tries to be smarter than the rest of the league at times.  Hiring or retaining Before the GM is in place wouldn’t exactly shock me.

Why do we need another guy off the Pete Carroll vanilla defense tree? You might as well promote Wash or rehire Bradley. Saleh has had elite players at both stops. That doesn’t make him a good coordinator let alone head coaching material.

If they’re trying in encourage the hiring of minorities in those positions, it makes more sense to give the draft picks to the hiring team. I guess the idea is to reward teams who develop/promote minority coordinators and assistant GMs.
