Stock Market under President Biden

The Fed is going to allow inflation to run hot. All they care about is economic recovery and full employment. They will not be able to raise interest rates, due to the size of the federal debt. So, time to invest for inflation.

Good point, they have the reliable 777. Nice solid, low risk, investment.

Boeing isn't about "business travel" and the 737 Max isn't their only thing, but I know that you know that being that you make "highly educated transactions". Big deal. The stock might pull back a bit for a few days then turn around and resume it's growth. I'm sure the dividend will still be fine. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. I really haven't investigated these yet since my the past year (April 2020 - mid Feb 2021) was about riding the tech wave. After the recovery/value stocks reach their prior levels (which I assume will be by Sept 2021) ... perhaps I look toward something stable and enjoy watching the Jags again.

You're long term anyway which I think a $300+ price is very legit by Dec 2022 --- i was kind of looking for a dip today to jump in but it's holding relatively steady, considering. You see the old slot machine in the corner, the one that still has the pull down handle .... I know it's not Lucky 7's (like Pfizer-BioNTech) and doesn't have any Elvis music coming out from the speaker (like Moderna), but that little one in the corner (JNJ) is about to heat up. Nobody has hit on that machine in 3 years. **Vaccine should be approved this week and they are about to enter into distribution contracts around the world (Chile being the latest). I just double-downed on them this morning --- I only see upside .... worst case scenario it just remains stagnant. There was a drop at the open for a short period of time which I think were "panic sellers" reacting to the news. Overall the Aerospace And Defense sector is still doing fine (I have a pretty good chunk in an ETF [ITA] that I have held for a few years). As far as a price target of $300+ by Dec 2022, I don't know... I'll sit back and watch how things play out and you never know, I may look for an exit point between now and then since this is just a sliver of my portfolio. As I have posted many times before, I rarely invest in individual stocks. I expected Boeing to resume paying out dividends after Q1 of this year, but it looks like that won't happen. I don't forecast an ROI because I when I buy something, I intend to hold it forever. This move just represents me leaning into the inflation scenario I have outlined a couple of times in this thread. For me, it's all about asset allocation and self-protection.

Rephrase -- what do you consider satisfactory returns? Just curious to be truthful because i know the day will come when 5% annual returns will be a welcome site.

Whether a return is satisfactory or not depends on your particular situation and the amount of risk you are taking. In my situation, I am not looking for any particular return. I try to divine what is the worst case scenario, and I try to allocate my assets to avoid it. I say to myself, what is the dumbest thing I could possibly do? I don't do that thing. Then I think, what is the most likely bad scenario? And I hedge my investments to avoid that bad scenario. It's the polar opposite of what you are doing. (02-21-2021, 03:39 PM)HURRICANE!!! Some [BLEEP] caught it at 1555

I added QS and AMC as well yesterday and increased my investment in JNJ & UAL. In any event, I'm just thankful I sold off on Friday because TSLA, ROKU, SQ, and all my other prior tech stocks are taking a beating. I did still hold on to ~ 1/4 of my SQ shares due to the earnings report scheduled for today but that appears not to matter anymore as everyone is taking profits. (02-23-2021, 10:21 AM)HURRICANE!!! That said, NASDAQ stocks are probably now more reflective of where they should really be as the period from Jan 1 - Feb 15 was rockin' hot. As such, if something is marked up 75% and then discounted 15% is it really on sale or is it still overvalued ....

I bet you sleep better at night and don't google "Dow Implied Open" 50 times between 4:30pm and 9:15am each day. I'll be there someday as soon as this "once in a lifetime opportunity" subsides, which should be soon.
