$300 a week would equate to a job paying $7.25 an hour if they worked a normal schedule. The Florida minimum wage is already nearly $1.50 more than that, so by not working, people are automatically missing out on an additional $240 a month. I know for a fact the jobs I have seen advertising pay more than minimum wage, so even more money is being left on the table for those who choose not to work.

This is such a short-sighted move for people choosing not to work.

These days people want things given to them rather than earning it.

I saw a report where a McDonalds was offering $50 just to show up for an interview.  There are reports in the financial news that employers can't even get "bad candidates" to show up for interviews.  The bottom line is people are lazy.

What do you expect? We have a nation full of people coming to the age where they should be entering the job force and they've never been told no their entire life. They have grown up in front of computer screens, Ipad screens and phone screens and they watch no-named idiots become rich and famous overnight. They see reality stars, Tik Tok stars and Youtube stars everywhere they go, making millions by doing nothing and they think they can do the same. Kids used to want to become doctors and lawyers, then it was movie and sports stars, then it was rappers and now it's social media stars. The laziness has progressively gotten worse over time.

If that happens, Big Macs and Whoppers will be $10 a piece and nobody could afford to eat there anymore. The restaurants would be forced to close down. The workers would be left with no job at all and poor people who can't cook would be dropping dead in the streets from starvation.
