Wilson is the truth. I would have been happy with him or Trevor.

Agreed. The last draft was one of those very rare years when I believe, we would have been in good shape had we drafted either player.

No. I think we know how this will ultimately play out but don't just give it to the guy due to his draft position. How do you think the players would feel about Meyer talking about a new culture and then ETN gets the nod over Robinson just due to his draft position? I can't believe people aren't seeing this.

I'm sorry, but you cannot possibly compare a bottom of the first round pick to the overall #1.  I can't believe you aren't seeing this.

Again, we all know how this will play out. But there's a process and a culture Meyer is trying to build. Everything is earned and nothing is given. Step away from the draft position for a minute and consider what it means to the mid-tier guys when they realize the upper tier players have to compete just like they do. Everyone knows Lawrence will end up winning but you don't abandon your process just because it will play out that way.

And before you ask, yes if Lawrence somehow stunk it up in preseason and Minshew suddenly became Tom Brady,, I absolutely would start Minshew at the beginning of the season. You play the guys who are playing the best.

Someone said the competition is already over. Fair enough, that's their opinion but the coaching staff apparently thinks differently.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

I'm fine with this line of thinking, but Trevor has outplayed Minshew--it's not even close.

Pretty amazing what QBs can do when defenses play backups and don't blitz.

I haven't seen practice but what I've heard is that Minshew looked better early and Lawrence has since surpassed him. What I *have* seen is the preseason game and Lawrence looked good for the most part although he held the ball to long and Minshew looked a little outclassed but I wouldn't categorize the difference as not even close. I think Meyer will probably name Lawrence the starter some time this week though. Let the process play out.

I think it's more of circumstance than anything.  You put Lawerence on the Jets right now or Chicago and I bet he is lighting it up.  You put Zack Wilson on the Jags and bet he reeks.  The team brought back the entire bad offensive line with the same bad offensive line coach.  We are a bad football team and the front office is not making good decisions.

But but but it's the pre-season and we are not gonna show our ultra powerful, brand new, never seen before offense because we are gonna shock the whole world with it! so screw Lawrence and his growth, it is more important to "hide our offense" in the pre-season  Laughing

Trevor has FINALLY been named the starter for week 1.

No more splitting reps.

We ALL honestly knew that TL16 was going to be QB1. Now the question is, who's QB2?

Time Will Tell.

I know they wanted this faux competition, but this should have been done prior to the frst pre season game. Meyer needs to go with his gut more and listen to his coaches less. Meyer needs to be Meyer.
