This team has been dysfunctional.  Khan has shown a pattern of not admitting his mistakes.  He gave Gus Bradley four years.  He gave Dave Caldwell eight years.  I like to be an optimist, but I'm a realist.  History tends to repeat itself. I think Khan outrages fans and gives Meyer another year.  Meyer will give a bunch of excuses.  He'll say that "you can't turn around a 1-15 team in one year".  He will also throw Bevell under the bus.  The failures will all be Bevell's fault.  My guess is they fire Bevell and some of the offensive positional coaches.  Sadly, I think Khan buys it and brings back Meyer.  Khan has shown no ability to quickly admit his mistakes in the past.  Why should he start now?  I hope I'm wrong.

From what I've seen/read (maybe some season ticket holders here could chime in, if there's any left lololol), the team is supposed to be reaching out to current season ticket holders about their renewal deposit (for next season) this week, or next week. I've seen some people say on twitter that they've already received phone call reminders about it.

Can't wait to hear what Lamping and Khan has to say when they receive an all time low renewal deposit. The fans would have to be out of their minds to renew right now with this mess going on.

Yes?

We already know it will be a surprise if Meyer is fired.

Lamping already knows and makes it appear that he genuinely cares about the season ticket holders. I don't know if it was just window dressing or not but he did go out of his way to when we reached out. Lamping isn't responsible for the football side and can only report that fans are fed up with this.

If we reset it needs to be a hard reset no hold overs from this losing culture, every time we fire a coach we keep some people who have been collecting checks for garbage work.

The message to the players needs to be the same of you're not here to win then there's the door.

If the stink were universal, I'd say yes. There has been talk that Charlie Strong could serve as interim if anything rash were done. If that happened as a long-term hire, chances are he'd give Cullen a chance to continue what he's started. Any other coach? They're going to bring their guys in, maybe Cullen and Strong get interviews, maybe they don't.

It's not as simple as getting rid of the head, and keeping an assistant. otherwise, you end up with the same conundrum we had in searching for a GM - we had the coach in place, the GM would only get to bring in scouts and hang their entire accountability on whether they trusted the coach's ability to work with what they bring in (or be subject to that coach's authority for roster building). If you start the search by forcing the new HC's hand with a DC in place, that's going to limit the pool from which you select your next head guy, unfortunately.

Learn from the Browns, Freddie Kitchens was a fan and player favorite hire that made all the headlines, and he was grossly underprepared for the responsibilities of a head coach. One, and done, replacement got them to the postseason. Not saying that we'll end up with a Stefanski, but we also won't remain a doormat due to a coach getting outclassed from Sunday to Sunday.

But has anyone denied it? Surely there are tons of people that have been in these meetings and in the locker room that can come out and say none of it is true.

This. That's my take on it. Nobody is running to his defense. Nobody is denying any of this [BLEEP]. Anyone of his players or anyone from his coaching staff could publicly step forward through various platforms and yet.... mums the word.

Blood is in the water. ESPN, the NFL, locals, every Joe Schmo with a blog or article are running this [BLEEP] up and down and left and right anywhere and everywhere they can.

Yet, nobody has stepped forward to save this man's reputation. THAT speaks all the [BLEEP] volume I need to see. He's already been on notice after Khan publicly stated after the finger blasting incident that he had to regain the team's trust.

I mean, [BLEEP], he was skating on thin ice then. These guys want him gone. Sorry. It's just all I can see right now. He's on his own. He isolated himself by alienating the staff he hired during a [BLEEP] rebuild.

He's delusional and his attempt at pretending to be a headcoach at this level has been disasterous. They won't win another football game. They're fixing to get embarrassed by the tinhorns, again, and the Jets. The Patriots are going to [BLEEP] dismantle them. Then it's almost over with them limping into the off season after a home loss to the clots.

He needs to be fired come January 5th. Bevell and Baalke need to go along with the rest of the offensive staff. Would like to see Cullen stay but don't blame him if he has a chance to walk.

I know as a fan we should want Victories but my biggest fear is we win against the Texans and Jets, and then we get to say he won more than 2 games. He's so toxic he needs to be gone, if that takes us getting blown out....then that's what I want. I want him gone and I don't want Shad to even that he should stay.

I really have no doubt in my mind that this team is fixing to [BLEEP] the bed the rest of the way through and it's very possible they win the No. 1 overall pick over the Lions.

In that case? You get him the hell out of here and you start calling Dallas for Will McClay and Kellen Moore or Baltimore for Joe Horitz and Greg Roman.

I think either pairing would net this team an immediate upgrade in 2022. Lawrence needs a HC that calls his own shots on offense. He needs that relationship. Kellen Moore could probably be the next Sean McVay. Roman has proven he can create gameplans that play to a QB's strenghts.

McClay and Horitz have been in front offices, scouting rooms and War Rooms with draftboards that indicate a common goal. Getting better. Getting playmakers. Getting what they want.

Khan just has to pull the trigger. I would be looking at Rick Smith and Jim Caldwell as well. Seek Bill Polian as a consultant.

Except it’s not just random Twitter guys.

It’s actual people with actual connections. The main person giving out the information has strong ties to Sanjay Lal.

Although you believe it’s “hearsay” there actually is some validity here. Not to mention Urban keeps lying and changing his story each time it’s brought up.

May not have been this thread, but someone posted the Rich arisen podcast with Tom Pelisero. TP explains his position. Sure, it is one sided. But nothing I’m getting from that implies it’s false. He seems to hold true to his report. He even acknowledged “semantics” as the words he used, but the overall sentiments hold true. But just listening to him, it doesn’t come off as make believe. Tom truly believes what he reported is true. We’ve yet to hear otherwise. And I doubt we will hear the “other side”. The fact we aren’t hearing this is all make believe says a lot too. I’d love to see UM gone yesterday. But I find it hard to continue with him next year, despite Khans track record with giving coaches a chance. If I HAD to put money on it. I’d say Meyer is gone at the end of the year. I just can’t see how Khan can legitimately try to operate a pro team with him at this point

And if I’m reading tea leaves, Khan hasn’t exactly given his endorsement for Meyer. Pretty much he’s saying a decision wouldn’t be made off of quick emotion. If the reports are true, his hands are tied. He’s just not going to do it as fast as we’d like. This business is unlike a “normal” business. I could be wrong. I hope I’m not. If I am wrong, then I will be very uninterested as a Jaguar fan for the bext season. It has gotten to that point for me.

You do understand that Khan doesn't know football and doesn't have connections. TC was brought in to handle that. He somehow was lead to thinking Meyer would be great and GM to work with Meyer was hired 1 year before bring Meyer in. I think this who thing was planned with the lame duck season and then this year.

Unless Khan starts trusting real NFL people and not ones who are too old and the game has passed them by, he will just make another hire based on splashy interview and using all the rahrah words to get you fired up.

I think they will negotiate a buyout. Meyer isn't going to walk away with the full value.

There is no way that Khan can keep him.
