Arians' offense is notoriously difficult to master, so there's a possibility that Winston didn't have the ability to do so.  He threw a ton of TDs and the Bucs put up a ton of points, but he also threw way too many INTs.

So, who runs the offense over there? Arian's or Leftwich? I am confused.

I think Pederson is probably the best candidate. He just needs someone who won't clash with him at GM. But we really should hire a GM first. Instead of the other way around.

Leftwich was garnering attention as a QB coach/coordinator long before Brady signed with TB. IIRC he worked with Arians in AZ when they had Palmer

Despite many openings, Leftwich wasn't even interviewed for even one of the head coaching positions last year.

Leftwich was offensive coordinator for one year with Arizona before joining Tampa.  Their offense was ranked dead last (32 out of 32 teams) in terms of both yards and points.

The offense did well statistically in terms of yards with Leftwich and Winston, but they were also dead last (32 out of 32 NFL teams) in terms of giveaways.  He was unable to coach away the interceptions.  You have question the judgment of an offensive coordinator for passing so much when your quarterback is an interception machine.  The team you are praising had a losing record thanks largely to miscues on offense.

Exactly, the homers suggesting Leftwich are grasping at straws for what amounts to another novelty pick and not a serious pick for a head coach, especially for a team that is starving for real and experienced NFL leadership.

That's a solid list. I don't really have anyone who stands head and shoulders ahead of anyone else, I think a lot of people will make me happy. I do hope that it works out that they find a GM/HC pairing that comes from the same org and has a lot of experient working together. But that's just a preference definitely not a rule.

Those are my two. Pederson was successful even with a very meddlesome owner and GM. McDaniels is a master schemer who hung out with Brady and Darth Hoodie. He won’t get pencil whipped much like other coordinators.

With Pederson, I want to know about the reports that he and Carson Wentz didn't speak to each other for 10 weeks during the season.  That demands some explanation.  

And with McDaniels, I would want to know why he thought he should spend a first round pick on Tim Tebow.  I also want to know why he accepted the Colts job and then backed out.

Pederson: Because Carson got too big for his britches. I had to give him the Urban treatment: I slapped him upside the head and told him, look here dipsh*t... I'm a winner! I won a Super Bowl with Nick frickin Foles. Where on your resume have you ever won -- North Dakota State? La di frickin da! I drafted Tim because I thought, surely, if I can win with someone with such goofy mechanics, my ticket would instantly be punched for Canton. I was just a young pup at the time trying to swing for the fences. Plus, he came with some intangibles that are hard to coach -- like God is on his side, who wouldn't want that?

Mcdaniels was what 33 when he was with the Broncos.....he's 45 now. Things may have changed a bit. and he also only had about 10 years of TOTAL coaching experience when he was hired on the Broncos

If you asked me a couple years ago, I would have dismissed McDaniel due to Tom Brady and the Indy debacle. He still has Bill Bilicheck over him. But I can’t argue their success post Brady. We’d love to have the last two seasons they’ve had over there. I’m warming up to him. Idk if he’s the best one for the job or not. But what NE did after losing Brady and Gronk is far more than I thought they would have.

Not a fan of Bowles either. I also don't like Josh McDaniels. I don't trust the guy. I hated what he did in Denver and then he screwed over the Colts by accepting the HC job and then rescinding it the same day. I don't think he has any integrity.
