Hutch vs Walker (merged)

It’s not a lot fans that want Hutchinson. It’s the fact that he’s pretty much the consensus #1 pick this year.

If Trevor busts, should Baalke take the blame for that even though every single manager in the history of the NFL would have made that pick?
There isn't a consensus #1 pick this year. We really don't have a clue what teams boards look like.  If Trevor bust its definitely on Baalke and lot of of things as well just as Olinematters said.  If Baalke takes Hutch and he bust but the Lions takes Walker and he goes on to be a All Pro 12+ sack a year guy then that's not on Baalke?  Just like if we pass on Neal and he goes on to be a perennial All Pro and we never find our true LT for Trevor, that is on Baalke!  To say if Baalke takes Hutch and he's a bust that it's not on him is comical, he's the GM making the pick  Who is it on?

NFL Next Gen Stats predicts that both Hutch and Neal will not be busts and are tied with others as "can't miss" prospects in the class.

Thought this guy was pretty funny but I guess Hutch was playing to not get injured or something....

Peter Schrager just mocked Travon to the Jags.

This kind of feels like when Baker was selected by the Browns. People didn’t know it was Baker until like the day of the draft.

I'm still seeing a few with Icky and Neal.  I don't think there is a consensus.

Betting odds have Hutch -170 and Walker +200.

Icky is about +1600. I think it’s down to Walker and Hutchinson

None of the four would surprise me.

If he takes Aidan as everyone expects he gets no glory for it. We all routinely shrug off Caldwell drafting Ramsey because it was such a no brainer. We do the same for Baalke with Tlaw now and we likely will again if he takes Hutch.

Baalke knows he is perceived as one of the worst people in the NFL. Hitting on a guy like Walker when the rest of the league is telling him he would be crazy for taking that gamble will give him a lot of bonus points that he won't get if he takes Hutch. I honestly think he is factoring that in.

Sometimes the best attribute a GM can have is not overthinking things.

When you try to get cute is when you end up a punchline.

And all 4 worry me.

I seem to change my mind every day.

What would you rather have? 10 sacks? (and I highly, HIGHLY doubt Aidan gives us that - he struggled against mediocre LTs in college - somehow facing the best of the best he's gonna win? [BLEEP])

Or... 10 TDs by a WR?

We have the QB. Why not give him a weapon.

Aidan is a nothing.. He's never gonna be a Bosa or a Watt so get that out of your heads right now.

I guess the Ohio State one who is so good I don't even know his name.

This is the 2012 draft. Ugh.

The worry for me with walker is I think he’ll have a career like alualu a solid 3-4 defensive end, and you need more than that for 1 overall. admittedly I don’t watch tape on all these prospects as in the uk the only tool I’d have is YouTube and anyone can look good on YouTube. But the clips I’ve seen on walker I don’t ever see any moves been used to win, it’s just pure strength. It’s all opinion but give me someone with all the tools and technique and production who most draftnicks call can’t miss.

Whereas Hutchinson it's just a non-stop motor.

Sorry... that's just not enough against the best of the best.

I think he will give 4-7 sacks - but they will all be coverage sacks. Because he just cant beat a REAL LT one on one.

If you are hoping jags take a wide receiver 1 overall I’m very sorry to let you know you’re going to be very disappointed, I’d love a trade down to 8-12 and pick up Garret wilson or Williamson , but there is no chance jags are doing that at 1 so, there’s no point just beating down every opinion that isn’t a wide receiver because it simply isn’t happening

I don't want a WR #1.

At all.

But the rest of the class is GARBAGE.

Aidan is a nothing. Walker is a literal nothing.

They suck and they will suck at the next level.

It's the 2012 draft. Everyone sucks.

Hottest takes around.

If the Jags stay at 1 and don't take Hutchinson they're going to regret it.

I do not understand Walker being mocked to us at all.
