Ah yes, those government contractors. Brings back fond memories of the $2,500 toilet seats on the Apollo spacecraft.

White people banned from off-campus UC Berkeley student housing common areas | Fox News

A private housing co-op just off the University of California, Berkeley campus has banned White visitors in common areas or without consent from other tenants.

The "Person of Color Theme House" is a housing co-op located near UC Berkeley that "aims to provide housing to low-income, first generation, immigrant and marginalized students of color," according to its website.

It is a private venture and is not affiliated with the university.

In a leaked photo of "house rules" for the co-op, tenants are instructed not to bring White guests to the home without permission and to keep White guests from common areas.

"Many POC members moved here to be able to avoid white violence and presence, so respect their decision of avoidance if you bring white guests," the leaked house rules list states.

White people are not entirely banned from the house's premises, but those wishing to bring White guests into the building must alert other tenants.

"Always announce guests in the Guest Chat if they will be in common spaces with you and if they are white," one rule states...

Really? All white people are not violent anymore than all black people are.

The headline is misleading since it is not officially affiliated with UC Berkeley. What I find interesting is the supposed fear that blacks now seem to have for whites. Can anyone confirm that this is really the case today?

Why would anyone be afraid of a white person.

Good call out, the three people that led the attack on Kyle Rittenhouse were all white leftists.

College students return to campus without access to abortion.

This is a headline I saw on MSN and it struck me as odd that women are actively thinking about this as they go back to college. The woman in the story lives in Texas and said she will use condoms and birth control with her boyfriend but if those fail she will go out of state for an abortion but feels like she shouldn't have to travel.

First of all, good on her and her boyfriend for being responsible. I appreciate that mindset, but so many don't think that way and the fact that women seem to be so focused on having access to abortion when they could be enjoying the experience of learning, meeting new people, etc., it's just a strange thing to me.

I never went to college. Not my bag. I went into the Army and that had it's own culture of crazy but we just didn't think about that stuff. The military is just as much a melting pot of backgrounds, personalities, upbringing, etc., as colleges but the biggest difference would likely be the women who are social and political justice warriors aren't going to enlist in the military, even back in the 90s.

Or maybe a lot of women aren't focused on it but the media wants us to think they are. More than likely the media is stirring that pot. It just seemed an odd headline. Or maybe I'm odd.  Big Grin

I wish I knew more about local politics. I have no idea who any of these people are or what they are about. I should really start being more involved.

Balletopedia is a non-partisan website that can give you some insight on the local candidates platforms. Assuming they answered the standard questionnaire provided by the website. While a lot of it is poli-speak, there's usually enough info to give you a fairly good idea. Unless, of course, they're lying.

I don't live in Duval county, but I did cast my votes this morning.  Wife is headed to the poll shortly.  Interesting note... I live in Putnam county and am a registered Republican.  The first ballot that they gave me was a democrat ballot.  When I went to return it, the poll worker started looking through the ballots that she had (they were all in black folders) and she had to reach down towards the bottom of the pile to find my correct ballot.  It was a very strange experience for me.

Look! Charlie Crist! He's a Democrat! He's a Republican! He's a Independent! He's a turnip! Who could possibly believe that this guy really stands for anything other than his own free-loading-off-the-taxpayers career? I'm glad to see he took out Nikki (i'm) Fried. But he's going to get demolished in November.

For those of you not in Florida, Crist is the male version of Hillary Clinton, except that he switches parties and policy positions a lot. He's the worst example of a political leech outside of Hillary that i can recall. Just won't go away.

Wiki him. It's quite a read.
