Yeah. He's mechanically sound. Which is impressive because he's worked on that midseason and he's corrected a lot of his issues that were causing him to sail passes earlier on this year. What impresses me is his ability to sink low and set his hips into a strong base. 

He's a tall guy. That's not easy to do. He really does look like a Justin Herbert out there but I think he could surpass him next year if they keep adding viable threats at the skill positions and bolstering the protection up front. 

Somebody said it best in the comment section but he's starting to look like a young, MOBILE version of Peyton Manning. That's pretty fair at this point considering his ball placement, ridiculous accuracy and some of the throws he keeps making. It's like watching a pool hustler run the table at will with him at times. 

Hope like hell he does this against Dallas. Defensively they're stout and stacked. They're actually good against the pass so I want to see how Lawrence and Pederson go about attacking and scheming against these guys. When you play against teams like Dallas, Kansas City, etc.

Those are often those games where you're like "Man, we could really use a Justin Jefferson here or a Travis Kelce here". Lawrence has elevated everybody around him this year. There's no denying this. BUT, when you start facing a loaded defense you're going to find out quickly as to whether or not your current skill position players can get it done or not.

His ascension is grossly impressive when you factor in the amount of drops we've had this year.

Some of the off-schedule throws are unbelievable.  The throw to Agnew when he had to escape the pass rush and roll to his left, and he saw the defender's back turned to him, and the throw to Marvin Jones where he was rolling out to his right and threw an absolute dime.  And the long pass where Zay Jones got interfered with- to make that throw while he's moving to his left- that is some unbelievable quarterbacking talent.

I don't expect as much success this week because Dallas has a much better defense than Tennessee.  But he's shown the ability to be the best QB in the league.  I look at the video above and say, how can anyone possibly play QB any better than that?  

Again, I expect a big letdown this week, because that's the way it goes this year.

2023 gonna be so juicy

Something else I noticed about Trevor that has improved within this season...

Remember in his rookie year and earlier in this reason, when Trevor felt pressure in the pocket, he'd almost always circle backwards to the and get away from the pressure? Often as he was circling he was going backwards blindly, and would actually run right into the other pass rusher! It was actually becoming a problem.

Since the London game, he's completely stopped doing that and is actually climbing the pocket or moving laterally away from the pressure.

It's been actually really awesome to watch. That pass to Agnew up the sideline is a prefect example is how his pocket movement has gotten better IN SEASON!!!

I watched that press conference and TLaw has some swagger he didn't have before. And he definitely called out the media for talking smack about him, though subtly and with a genuinely friendly smile on his face. All they could do is chuckle nervously. 

Leadership looks good on him. 

And he has put on some muscle, thank God. Last year I cringed every time he got sacked thinking he would snap like a twig.

Many of the media were criticizing him for lack of progress. There is no doubt he was stagnant in October.

I think it's great that he took responsibility for his play and then made effort to get better.

He did what real professionals (and real adults) do. They accept criticism, reflect on it, and then work on getting better.

He's the antithesis of a Zach Wilson or Aaron Rodgers. I hope he can keep this maturity as he gets more and more successful

I was born in 1985. I never really watched Walter Payton play or the 70s Steelers but I still have respect for them. There is way more out there than just what we have experienced in our lifetime. 

So while you hate Coughlin for what he did in 2015 or 2017, the history for him goes further back and he's one of the most important people for this organization. You also may not remember Jimmy Smith or Keenan or Fred or Brunell but their impact on this franchise will last forever.

i became a fan in 95 started watching every week around 2002.  so missed the majority of the early success.  but Coughlin goes back more than just what he did in 2017.  He is a legend and will always be one.

I respect the opinions of those who wish to praise Coughlin's career in it's entirety.

I chose to focus on the part of his career that effected my time as a fan of the team. 

We can agree to disagree. 

Again,  at the end of the day,  his blunders worked out in our favor,  so it's not like I've got pitchforks in my garage that I sharpen every night after the kids go to bed...

Why not?  You never know when some good pitchforks could come in handy.

TC was a great coach. He'll get into the HOF in that capacity. He was definitely not great wearing the GM or whatever other front office hats he wore over the course of his career.

Honestly,

I think it's because Pederson is the HC.  I can absolutely imagine Pederson taking Lawrence aside and telling him to stop that "circle back" bull [BLEEP] that he's seen other scrambling QBs do.

Remember, Pederson was Dan Marino's back up.  Marino never pulled that type of nonsense.  I have a feeling Pederson began drilling Lawrence in how to work within the pocket.

It really is a thing of beauty to watch that play with Agnew.  I've seen it multiple times, and every time, you can see the training with Pederson kick it.

Go ahead and re-watch the play.  There's a split second that I think Trevor considers doing the "circle backwards" move...  But instead he steps up, looks around, and then moves laterally...  That's all on coaching.

Trevor Lawrence has great intangible gifts.  But the best one is his ability to learn from his coaches.  Pederson is providing a Opus and the entire country is missing out.  But we.  We Jaguars fans are watching a masterpiece being painted in real time.
