(12-17-2022, 08:19 PM)homebiscuit Wrote: Oberlin College pays bakery it called 'racist' over $36 million after years-long defamation lawsuit | Fox News

Oberlin College in Ohio has paid out over $36 million to Gibson’s Bakery and Food Mart after years of attempting to overturn a jury decision that the college had defamed the local business.

In 2016, Allyn Gibson, the son of Gibson’s Bakery and Food Mart owners David Gibson and Allyn Gibson, chased and tackled a Black student who was suspected of stealing a bottle of wine on Nov. 9, 2016. Two students at Oberlin College, who are also Black and were friends with the student who stole the bottle, got involved in the incident, which became physical.

In a statement to Fox 8, an Oberlin College spokesperson said that the institution has paid $36.6 million to the bakery. The amount covers the damages awarded, legal fees, and interest accrued...

...Oberlin College students protested outside the bakery following the shoplifting incident. During a protest, former Oberlin College vice president and dean of students Meredith Raimondo handed out flyers stating that the bakery was a "RACIST establishment with a LONG ACCOUNT of RACIAL PROFILING and DISCRIMINATION," according to court documents.

College resources were also used to print flyers and buy food and other supplies to support the protesters. The school also stopped buying food from the bakery...

Biggest problem of this entire issue is bolded.  36.6 million dollar mistake.

Some little liberal arts college in Atlanta was foolish enough to hire her.

Now, let's check Pelosi's tax returns..

Seems like Trump was one of the few politicians who left office with less money than he started with.

And how much have the Democrats wasted in tax payer monies, for this?

Not just Pelosi. It should be mandatory for an elected official to make their returns public while they hold office to minimize any potential abuse of the office.

Maybe.  Convenient that you Trumpers say that now.

I very much think Presidents should always disclose their tax returns.  I think it should be one of the qualifications for office.  I always thought so.
Not sure if it should apply to members of Congress. Maybe.

Doesn't matter... the press will just spin the narrative in her favor, and it will come and go, with the Mikesez's of the world saying we have no idea of knowing if she actually wrote that letter or not.

It should apply to everyone in national public office, probably state level as well.

I've read a couple of different times today that his parents are the one's who bailed him out.

Now, I'm gonna put on my ole conspiracy theory tin foil hat and say:

They're allowing him bail because of where he was supposed to serve until his hearings. He was supposed to be housed in the same facility that housed Epstein.

Something else tells me that he was granted bail and assigned to his parents home because of assassination operatives in that holding facility..

If he gets assassinated, he can't stand trial..

Idk.. Just my tin foil hat.

Look at Rubio, he just got elected again and a month later he is already back to being a RINO. He voted to get the spending bill to have a vote but must have had too many people calling his office because he decided to vote against it since it didn't matter for the final vote.
