With the 24th pick, the Jaguars are on the clock!

Duncan over Torrence, Joey Porter, and Myles Murphy is very interesting.

This is by far one of the worst mocks I have seen this year. Not even close. Not sure what the [BLEEP] they're smoking over there at CBS but I would like some of it for this weekend in particular.

The funniest part was the write up about Duncan. "Duncan didn't have a tremendous 2022". I stopped right there. LOL. Then the VERY next [BLEEP] pick, the Giants take Torrence and the write up says. "Torrence is an NFL-ready guard the Giants can plug in immediately. He'll improve the run and pass".

This guy clearly doesn't know [BLEEP] and clearly doesn't know our roster. We're already tied down with Cam Robinson at LT. If we're letting Taylor walk then you have to answer for what Walker Little's purpose will be after you dropped a high 2nd RD pick on him just two years ago.

It's a dumb decision. We clearly have needs along the line but guard seems way more pressing at the moment over the tackle positions. But, outside of that? Holy [BLEEP]. Four QB's taken inside the top eight? With multiple trades happening? No [BLEEP] way that happens. All of these QB's have HUGE question marks coming out of college.

The only one I would feel remotely comfortable with taking in the first round as a team is C.J Stroud and that's because of his accuracy, his size and the game he had against the Bulldogs in a very closely contested ball game. That was probably the most impressive showing out of this entire class.

Young? Too small. Injury concerns already.
Levis? Too inconsistent. His accuracy is booty.
Richardson? He's [BLEEP] RAW. REALLY, REALLY RAW.

This QB class is suspect as hell. Especially where you have a market that has some pretty decent QB options to where you can focus on other areas of need in RD1.

Derek Carr, Jimmy G, Aaron Rodgers, Lamar Jackson, Geno Smith & Gardner Minshew. That's a decent cast of QB's there that could help some teams out. Which would allow you to probably draft a better QB prospect to develop for a year or two. Hendon Hooker and Tanner McKee are being slept on badly at the moment.

This is funny when it comes to our pick. As I said before, nobody has a clue what we’ll do.

Let me try a hypothetical.   Would you give up our 1st and 2rd round picks  to move up 7 spots and select Jalen Carter?

I would.  If Jalen Carter dropped all the way to pick #17 because of his legal problems, and I was running the Jags, I would be hyper aggressive in trying to move up and get him.

Depending on FA, Van Ness might be my favorite realistic option at 24.

I’m gonna be all over the place up until draft day. I like so many prospects and I could see the Jags going in a number of directions.

I like Van Ness but I doubt he makes it to 24.  It's crazy he never started a game in college and was always a backup

Not really a good list of players, but definitely something to think about when looking at this year's class and who they might target. He definitely has a type.

Versatile safety who can also play in the slot.

Right now he and Torrence are my top two to go 24. I would be happy with either.

My thinking is that if the stuff hits the fan so badly that he's still there at 17, he's untouchable.

Someone, somewhere will move up way earlier than that to roll the dice. Unless this goes way south for him, and I don't see that happening.

I'd rather Chris Smith in the 2nd

One CB who I'm really ecstatic about. Quote me on this. I'll eat crow if I'm wrong. But, I believe that Cam Smith (CB from South Carolina) will end up being the best CB from this draft in the next few years. And he's projected to go mid to late in the first round. If he somehow manages to fall to 24, I would want the Jags to take him without hesitation. He would be a great compliment to Tyson Campbell. It's a need and most likely BAP in that situation. However, I feel he will likely go between 14 and 23.

I could see TE here too or DL if they don't grab a CB.

At the SB all the buzz was about his teammate

True. Darius Rush is showing up at the right time. One of my concerns about him is he seems a bit injury-prone. At the next level, that's going to be more of a habit if he isn't careful.

Like I been thinking, Jags need a cb or offensive guard in my opinion.

He finished the season with the highest coverage grade on their team

In no particular order, at this point, I’m leaning Torrence, Van Ness, Ringo and the long shot Joey Porter Jr.

Also kinda feeling my Terps Duncan and Banks but might be a reach at 24.

I'm still thinking its Edge/DL and/or CB in the first two rounds, but if Washington is still on the board at 24 that's very tempting.

This TE group is really good. Between Mayer, Kincaid and Washington. All three of those guys are 1st RD talents. LaPorta, Kuntz, Kraft and Mallory are solid as well.

They should take Washington on the opening night of the draft. If he's not there it's Tyree Wilson from Texas Tech or Isaiah Foskey from Notre Dame for me. They should take two TE's though.

Washington and Kuntz or Washington and LaPorta would be awesome.

Agreed, I'd add Musgrave as well. But Washington is my top guy

Agreed man.  What Doug and Trev could do with Washington could be a scary combo for a lot of years.  I don't think we take Kancey so Washington is my top guy, I'm right there with you

Does he have experience in the slot?

I keep seeing tons of CB predictions for the Jags in rounds one or two and I wonder if folks realize we have two really good outside CBs locked down for two more seasons?

We just need a nickel.  Any prospect I'm looking at needs to be a legit starter at nickel for at least his rookie year.
Smith's scouting reports all talk about a lack of physicality and suspect tackling.
Those are not good traits for a nickel. He seems like an outside speedster to me.
