Let's Talk About- Political Edition

I said from the very beginning when all of the "insurrection" nonsense started that it looked mostly peaceful to me.  I watched the coverage live flipping between FOX, CNN and NBC news channels.  For the most part it was people gathering and walking around.  There was a very, very small percentage of the people that were there that did anything wrong or violent.

The only death that day was the unprovoked and what appears to me the unjustified shooting of an unarmed woman.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world.  Those who understand binary and those who don't.

All I’ll say on the January 6th issue is of course the left will make it out to be more serious than what it was. That’s free political points. You don’t pass it up.

However, I can say if it had been perpetrated by a bunch of antifa goons, I would be properly indignant to say the least. The bottom line is what happened that day was wrong, regardless of whose interpretation on its severity. It shouldn’t have happened and should never happen again.

It is hours and hours of footage, selectively edited by proven liar Tucker Carlson, intended to show what his viewers want it to show, in order to keep his ratings up.  It has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Tucker Carlson cares more about ratings than he cares about truth.

I watched the whole thing, live, as it occurred.  It was the most horrifying thing I've seen in years.  It was a mob who fought with police, battered their way into the Capitol, and tried to stop our government from functioning.  Tucker Carlson is trying to whitewash the thing because all he cares about is money.

It was perpetrated by a bunch of antifa goons. It's pretty much a given that at least SOME of the initial breach was caused by people with known antifa affiliations. The FBI also played a role. And, yes, of course, Trump supporters played a role. There were tens of thousands of people there. A small minority entered. And even smaller minority did so by force. The only person that attempted to go where they weren't allowed was shot. They went home of their own accord. Virtually no one branded weapons among a base that disproportionately owns weapons. Yet, these people are being punished to the fullest extent of the law... even those who did nothing but walk through the Capitol building. This was not an orchestrated coup. The whole thing is a dog and pony show, and I personally believe it was designed to look that way to deter people from ever doing it again.

I agree that it shouldn't be a thing in a civilized society. However, I think we need to start pushing back against this government. It's corrupt. We aren't in control even though it's designed to look that way. Saying it should never happen again takes a LOT off the table.

I will say that you are correct in that we would be indignant if the same thing happened by antifa goons. This is what happens when othering occurs. That said, do you really think antifa goons would have walked in, taken photos, and walked out? I don't.

Good. Our international policy on CoVid is a frigging joke, and the rest of the world is laughing at us. No country in Europe is doing this now, I just researched it for an upcoming trip in August. This is so far out of the realm of science now and so far up the [BLEEP] of the political that its embarrassing to us as a country.

Tucker Carlson's own lawyers want you to know he is not meant to be taken seriously.
They plead in court that his statements are not statements of fact.

See the sad part of my statement is, Tucker is only an anchor with his own news talk show..

I guess Tucker is way worse than a lying Pelosi, Cocaine Mitch, Schumer, Pig Liz Cheney, Kiss [BLEEP] Kinzinger and Adam Schiff..

That is totally your thinking.

Pelosi's job is (was?) to win elections.  She is a liar, but, because of the depravity of the voting masses, lying is part of the job.  Trump is a liar too, of course, but that's not the main problem with him. For both of them, their core truth is "I want you to vote for me" and they have never lied about that.  If you want to vote for a politician who doesn't lie, or a politician who at least admits and corrects untruths they have said, there are no options for you.

Tucker says his job is to inform you.  But under oath he admits he doesn't inform anyone about anything.  His job is to get you to watch ads.
Meanwhile, there are many real journalists out there who actually work with facts. Who actually abide by the maxim of "we report, you decide."  If you want a journalist who isn't going to intentionally lie to you there are so many choices.  Don't waste time or mental energy on Tucker.

Anyone watching the Jacksonville mayoral debate? I heard Frank Keasler talk on the radio once before this and he sounded like a guy with good ideas. He's the only one in the debate so far who has vocalized real plans instead of using his time to ramble in general terms or self-promote, like Daniel Davis.

This is interesting.

https://news.yahoo.com/trump-2020-lawyer...41456.html

Jenna Ellis, an attorney for Donald Trump who helped drive his false claims about the 2020 election results, has admitted in a Colorado disciplinary proceeding that she misrepresented evidence at least 10 times during Trump’s frantic bid to subvert his defeat.
Among her admitted misrepresentations:
— Ellis claimed on Nov. 13, 2020 that Hillary Clinton didn’t concede the 2016 election.
— On Nov 20, 2020, Ellis claimed Trump’s team had evidence of a “coordinated effort in all of these states to transfer votes either from Trump to Biden, to manipulate the ballots, to count them in secret.”
— On Nov. 30, 2020, Ellis said on Fox that Trump “won in a landslide.”
— On Dec. 5, 2020, Ellis claimed the Trump team found 500,000 illegal votes had been cast in Arizona.

You guys are really uncovering all the issues. Really... pat yourselves on the back for a minute.

I mean... it's not like you're addressing any of the real concerns that have been brought up, but you sure are pointing out the stuff that reinforces your worldview. Should she lie? No. I hate lying lawyers. I hate Sidney Powell for the damage she did to the election narrative. However, citing a lying lawyer as proof a crime didn't happen is ridiculous on its face. Just like saying that Fox news anchors new they were lying about election fraud, because they didn't believe Sidney Powell. That doesn't mean the election wasn't fraudulent. It's just a perfect red-herring for people who already want to pretend it didn't happen.

Sympathy Section: Sad event. I also feel for the husband and son that had to witness this. I've flown with some passengers next to me that I wish had been dead, but to really do it would be pretty unnerving, even more so it being your wife / mom. That flight must have felt longer than the Chargers returning to LA after losing to us in the WC game. Could have been blunt trauma to the head with intercranial bleeding, or a broken neck as HB suggests. Sudden unexpected turbulence with the seat belt off can get anybody..

Snarky Section: the Clinton's are coming up with ever more creative and unusual ways to bump off former employees. Then again, the trail of bodies is so long, they are running out of conventional ways.

It doesn't give you just a little pause to see that the people pushing the narrative of a stolen election didn't actually believe it themselves?  Now we have Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, the rest of Fox News, and now Trump's own lawyer, who have admitted they never believed any of it.

Dude, I never listened to one of those people to begin with. In fact, I was the first person I know who was clamoring about the irregularities that happened on election day.

Admittedly, when Powell said she had the 'kraken,' I hoped she wasn't lying, because courts need hard proof, but she was and became quickly apparent she was full of [BLEEP]. Why someone would do that to their career, I have no idea, but it ended up being another dog and pony show. Just another complete misdirect.

You didn't need dominion voting machines to be the culprit, though, because the numbers are wonky all by themselves. I said from the very beginning that they can't win a case with wonky numbers, but the public should demand more accountability and transparency, but instead we get the Marty's and Mikey's who wouldn't question the government or media if you caught them spitting in their cornflakes. It's FDA approved!
