California moving forward with a plan for black reparations.

They’re going to sorely regret ever going down this road.

They don't care about anything unless it gets filtered through their pipeline and they are told they should be outraged by it. You know, like some of our resident posters.

Great question.  In that scenario, is Christopher Wray a good guy or a bad guy? And if it was not appropriate for Wray to share this evidence about Biden with Trump in 2019, why would it be appropriate for Wray to share that evidence with Grassley today?

We already know that individuals in the FBI leak things whenever they are politically volatile.  They leaked stuff about Hillary, Trump, and Hunter.  How has Joe escaped this kind of leaking up until now?

The Director of the FBI should never disclose information about an ongoing investigation to anyone, including the sitting President, except on a need-to-know basis.  Grassley said that he believed an internal document existed, but never identified a source.  Why do you assume it was Wray?

A task force has recommended payments in of a nebulous amount to a nebulous number of people.
But the total cost is estimated at $800 billion, which is almost 3 years worth of the state of California's entire budget.
(1) The Legislature would have to add the details of exactly whom gets paid exactly how much, then (2) the legislature would have to approve that, then (3) the governor would have to sign it.
As concerning as this task force report is, the next three steps are never going to happen.
California's budget is much more volatile than other states, fluctuating rapidly between surplus and deficit.  This is because a lower share of it comes from property taxes.  The irony is most other states have the stability of revenue to actually plan out stable allocations like this for decades.  The one state that doesn't is the one state that wants to try.
Of course my opinion is this is all foolish.  I would be less opposed to smaller payments to specific individuals who can show that they or their parents were subject to job discrimination or housing discrimination in the recent past.  But trying to specifically document stuff that happened hundreds of years ago, let alone compensate the descendants for it, that is just not feasible on any large scale.

Where did I say Wray was the source?
When are you going to start reading what I write and stop asking me to defend statements I didn't make?

Whether or not Wray is the source, Wray would have access to any internal memo in the FBI.  So the disclosure or not of it is up to him, at least in the legal channels.  Determining if Grassley or Biden or Trump "needs to know" is up to Wray.  Right?.  But thats just the legal, proper channel.  Anyone could leak it.  Why hasn't it been leaked yet?

The source is the whistleblower. The phrasing of the statement is key.

Why ask the FBI to produce a document when they can easily just claim they checked and can't find anything you are talking. No one has the power to do anything about it and the media would cover for them.

The whistleblower has provided something, either knowledge of a document or better yet has already provided the documents. In cases like these, you don't ask questions that you don't know the answer to. You give them a chance to further dig the hole they are already in.

The republicans will have a press conference or committee meeting on Wednesday where they will share all the info they have on the Biden family financial crimes.

Then a statement was made in a Sunday talk show interview that they better not indict Hunter before Wednesday.

Stupid republicans. Either the FBI ignores everything, refuses to provide anything, and the media covers for them or they can just indict Hunter on Tuesday and seal everything. Then all the info from the whistleblower has to go to the FBI and can be buried again.

It's like they are playing for the same team. Just release the info now as they have no power to arrest or charge anyone and the FBI won't be doing it.

And Audrey Hale was a guy. Btw, the FBI still will not release her manifesto.

What to know about Mauricio Garcia, the Texas mall massacre suspect killed by police (nbcnews.com)

"A preliminary review of what is believed to be the shooter’s social media accounts reveal hundreds of posts that include racially or ethnically motivated violent extremist rhetoric, including neo-Nazi material and material espousing white supremacy, two senior law enforcement officials said."

People with Spanish names may or may not be paler than you.
Plus, the ones who are more tan or brown, often consider themselves white anyhow.

I literally work with a guy who has a totally Spanish first and last name, and is paler than me. And I'm pretty pale. My FIL also is 100% Spanish heritage and name, and he's about the same complexion as me. Tell him he's not white. I dare you.

Why does it matter?
Why does it matter to you if the murderer is a white supremacist or not?
If he is, we should be aware of white supremacists and speak against their ideology.
If he's not, we should be aware of white supremacists and speak against their ideology.
If he is, then we would be more immediately aware, but it's not like we were going to be unaware otherwise.
Unless... you... no! Say it ain't so!

Not buying it though and not going to. He blames LibsofTikTok for radicalizing him and that's complete bull [BLEEP]. All LibsofTikTok is doing is reposting what these left wing lunatics are originally posting. Sort of a concierge of stupidity. Yeah I'm not seeing what you're seeing and I don't need to.  We should all be very careful about what we see on social media.  The posts that get boosted and shared are often emotionally manipulative and we should be very deliberate about whether we let that into our lives or not. The creators (or human aggregators) usually know they're being manipulative, but they usually don't realize how many different directions that manipulation can go. The LibsofTikTok guys are just going for "libs are ridiculous, don't trust them." And that's most of what they get. But some small fraction of viewers are getting "I should never be friends with a lib" and on to "I should disown any libs in my family" and finally with enough pre existing mental illness there's "I should go shoot all the libs".

Which is what I'm always on about. There's a lot of dangerous stuff being said and a lot of dangerous technology amplifying it. Let's start being more positive and constructive, please. There are plenty of things you can follow that share positive messages about people from all walks of life, and with and without traditional values. Follow those.
