Colts are in an Irsay-induced free fall, and I think Richardson may get loose and scamper a few times, and may hit the TEs over the middle enough to score some points, but he's gonna get pressured into a mistake or two as well. I hope Caldwell sends the heat with LB and safety blitzes and makes AR take a lick or two early on. Get in his head.

We'll capitalize.

Would love to see Josh and Travon light him up! Walker needs to remember that this isn’t just for the Jags. It for the Dawgs!

Now Irsay just looks like a drunken idiot after living off the benefit of being able to land two great #1 picks and having Bill Polin as the GM.

I’m surprised they didn’t claim Jacob Harris or Seth Williams.

Loving the confidence and think we'll win but this game isn't going to be a walk over. Week 1 is always an odd week as teams are still at different stages or preparedness but we have looked good and playing well in preseason so feel confident.

Colts seem a complete mystery. Rookie QB, new HC, no Taylor, had a drama filled summer but still a division rival and will want to give us a sucker punch.

This will be a good game to kick the last bits of rust off and then get ready for a big step up with the Chiefs.

I agree except not looking to “knock rust off” and then get ready for the Chiefs. We need to go into Indy and get a dub any way possible.

Watching Richardson play for the Gators, I was certain he would have to change positions to transition to the NFL.  Dude couldn't hit water from a boat.  I couldn't be more pleased the Colts burned a top pick on him.  Just contain him at least most of the time, and we should be able to make him look very bad.

Week 2 is definitely scary...  Reid has been as good as anyone in recent memory at having his teams ready to go in September, even long before Mahomes showed up.  Will be a real test.

I get your point and maybe I didn't phrase it the best way. More like getting up to speed and in rhythm in real games. I think it will be a good challenge for the first game of the season for us to get going and if we can get a W on the road to a division rival on top of that then it's a very nice start.

But I agree with you, any way possible.

On the road, I think it's the largest road spread for the week. Week one is also an unknown and crazy things happen.

The Ravens are only -10 at home against the Texans.

It's the NFL, so you won't see a huge point spreads. It will probably increase some but don't look for it to go beyond -6. The Jags should win by at least 14 unless the offense can't finish drives and the defense is terrible.

Going up against a rookie QB in his first game is always a question mark. I suspect he’ll run for as much as he passes. A key will be getting turnovers which should be doable. Our DBs are no doubt looking forward to (I hope) having a field day.

We should be able to play from ahead on D. Offense should ball out, a rookie QB without their star RB should be advantage us in every phase of the game. Expecting us to be able to blow the game open since we should be a (pretty) good team this year. Ideal time to play them too right out the gate at their place to get it out of the way and get them before the light bulb comes on.

We will see Minshew in the 2nd half at some point.

kind of scary when you look at it that way.  that does factor in the 3 points for homefield which probably brings it down from 7.5 (if on neutral field) to 4.5 (@ Indy)

As long as we don't have a bunch of turnovers, it should be a lopsided win.

There is no way they can keep up with our offense unless we give them easy points.

I bet every week.  Putting 100$ on the Jags and will likely have them in a few parlays

I’m worried about two things in Indy:

1) While it’s hard to imagine a trap game when everyone is geared up for the opener, this has every element of a trap. We’re considered a top team and Indy is bottom tier. Indy should be tired of hearing how bad they are in the media. They have a QB they are excited about, and their stadium should be rocking. And, maybe most important, some of our players will be looking forward to proving themselves the next week against KC. Makes me nervous.

2) I’m worried that our OL is going to be a critical weakness. Rookie RT, first-time LT starter, and these same IOLs weren’t so good last year. Colts, for all their flaws, have a dang good DL, particularly in the middle…
