Absolutely.  I think liberals often genuinely want to help people, but they are so naive about the actual effects of policies like these.  I'm sure there are thousands of people who would gladly work at a McDonalds for less than $20 an hour, but now those opportunities will diminish, because somewhere, someone is busy designing a completely automated fast food restaurant that doesn't require any human workers at all.

The transition is already happening.  Remember when a McDonald's had 4-6 order-taker/cashiers?  Now there's only one plus several self-service kiosks (that never go on break and rarely call in sick, make errors giving out change, require workers comp insurance, cost the owner State & Federal unemployment insurance contributions....)

This summer I stayed at a hotel that had an automatic pancake maker.  Banana

Because Gavin Newsom doesn’t care about that. This is what he cares about.

So, Newsome appoints Kamala Harris to that senate seat, and Newsome goes on the ticket as VP.

Newsome steps down and gets named to open Senate seat. He's not ready to tie himself to Dopey McShartStains this election cycle. He gets good exposure to the East Coast political machine and is ready to go after Harris in 2028 should they win reelection.

They are not naive, they know exactly what they're doing. And when I say "they" I mean the liberal politicians.

That is the rumor, although I think they wanted it to play out later. She will have to agree to it but there are issues with her being president and she knows she has no power or support. She is being used for 1 thing and her career is done unless she moves backwards now.

Then Biden either has an issue or agrees to not run. If the plan happens, there is no way that Newsome will tie himself to Biden. He'll be presented as the one to fix the issues that all their policies created.

There are problems with this plan though. The house and senate have to vote to confirm it. The house could stop it and we end up with the speaker being president in a crazy scenario. There are also some people saying Big Mike is the choice instead. Shifty also wants the seat and he isn't going to go quietly.

I think most politicians are pretty cynical.  That includes all of them, not just liberal politicians.  But there are many people who are genuine liberals.  I know a lot of them.  Some of them are very good friends of mine.  And their hearts are usually in the right place, and they truly want to help people.  But in my opinion, they are naive about the effects of the policies they espouse.

It's all fun and games until you have to pay the consequences. Funny how she changed her tune when that happened.

...'I've never been through nothing like that ever in my life, I don't even know what happened. I need some sleep, I'm scared, I'm traumatized, never again in my live, like seriously,' said Blackwell...

And, of course, the de rigueur victimization statement.

...In a following post, the alleged looter explained that she was traumatized by "the way they treated me in the jails" adding that "this what these people do to us black people."

"I can't believe this I'm traumatized the way they treated me in the jails wow this what these people do to us black people 60!" Blackwell wrote in an Instagram story. "Whatever I gotta do to remain humble and live a better life I will! I will never see jail again. I felt like I did years."...

Actually, it's not exactly like that headline implies.  They're not building a coal plant to power the battery plant.  What they're doing is keeping an existing coal plant open until 2028.

Well, if you had "black, female, lesbian, BLM and abortion activist who lives in Maryland" as your pick for California Senator please claim your prize at the window.
