Josh Allen - Deal or No Deal (Done Deal!)

Players who have an elite season during a contract year almost always set the new bar.

And I'm good with it, pay him we have to start keeping home grown talent especially when they're rising stars

Good, it's well deserved.

We don't need a repeat of the Jalen Ramsey situation.

How much you wanna bet we don't re-sign Allen?

I wouldn't pay him that guaranteed though. I would pay him 2 years and the rest has to be earned through play. Maybe guarantee some if it for injury with a signing bonus but need an out after 2 years if he doesn't keep it up.

While his play is great at times, he doesn't affect the game with results enough for a top 5 guaranteed deal.

Self ban from the board for one season.

I am sure you can bet that on many sites.  Let us know how you do...lol

Lol these guys talking about how they're going to dictate a low ball deal to Josh [BLEEP] Allen.

Probably the same ones that wanted to throw cash and picks at any edge with 6+ sacks earlier in the year.

Josh Allen is our leader on D. He is our best defender, and I love how he builds up the confidence in others around him.

Brilliant idea!

I’m sure he will sign that deal on the spot because it’s so good!

He leads the league in pressures. He’s .5 sacks behind the leaders in sacks and yet he doesn’t affect the game with results? He’s a top 5 pass rusher. As most of us already said, they should have given him the money last year so they don’t have to make him the highest paid pass rusher in the league this year.

Just another feather in Baalkes cap!

He’s 26, a leader, and a great player. Josh has the ability to be in the jaguars ring of honor if/when we re sign him and he continues to play well. Keeping him is essential.

Travon is developing also. Our pass rush next year with those two on the edge and hopefully an interior pass rusher has the potential to be very good for a long time.

You re sign Josh, and you still have Travon on his rookie deal for another 2 years.

Josh is the best player on this football team and is our only elite level player. And he plays a premium position. It amazes me the lack of love the guy gets around here. We should all feel blessed we have him on our team and give him whatever he wants to stay.

I know he won't but if he wants a guaranteed deal, it's better for the Jags to not pay that much without being able to void it after 2 years. Guaranteed deals kill you when a player doesn't perform or is injured.

He is too streaky to sign a 4 year deal, although I'm sure someone will pay it. He's probably better off signing a 3 year deal and then another 3 year deal. The 4 year deal may cost him more on the next deal.

I read through these posts, one question. Are we trying out for the next Dr. Pepper commercial?

the thing about football, is the players want max guaranteed money due to injury. I don't know if you can totally structure out risk with a high end player's contract at this point. In my opinion, he earned it. the team should have locked him up earlier, but they gambled and Josh won.

He doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would take the money and coast. I understand the risk though since he had some average years between his rookie season and this year. Although he stepped it up late last year when ut mattered.

I think you pay him. Elite talent at 2nd most important position.
