I would love to see how the Marty's and Mikey's follow up on how many arrests are made on these protesters.

I don't understand what that bolded sentence means.  Please explain.

I thought I had quoted Winger in that response. Those protesters won't even get identified. Why not?

OK I didn't realize you were talking about the anti-Israel protest at the White House.  Just like on Jan 6, the priority is to clear the area rather than arrest all participants.  I don't know if the FBI will identify and track down the worst actors now that the area is clear.  I assume they will.  I also assume the news won't cover it either way.

Just throwing this out there, recent examples of unarmed mobs overthrowing their government:
Iran 1979
Philippines 1986
Tunisia 2011
Egypt 2011

The speech sounded like she was admitting to it and also admitting to making mistakes when she is a prosecutor and DA.

Any case she has tried could be potentially reopened if there was any question of wrong doing.

I think I'll turn in my plane tickets and drive instead.

On the other hand, I've noticed that golfers with severe slices are underrepresented on the PGA tour.  This could be my chance to demand inclusion.

Is it going to undermine the fact that you are saying that you believe people were there, armed and ready to take over the government, but went home when threatened? They brought guns, but waited around until a bigger threat showed up? That doesn't make any sense.

They went to the Capitol when Trump told them to go to the Capitol.
They fought there when Trump told them to fight.
They stayed when Trump told them to stay.
Then finally they left when Trump told them to go home.

In other words, by your admission, Trump singlehandedly stopped an insurrection attempt in progress.  If he is found not guilty, doesn't that make him the hero who saved the country from plunging into anarchy?

The fact she made accusations of playing the race card while playing the race card is truly ironic. Is she attempting reverse psychology as the trump card. Oh! More irony!

He can't take credit for stopping it unless he also takes blame for starting it.

Sometimes it's helpful to check your ethics in an alternate history scenario.

Let's suppose that Hillary won in 2016, and Trump went for a rematch in 2020.  In this alternate 2020, there is a massive increase in absentee voting and Trump gets over 80 million votes and clearly wins the electoral college.  Alternate-Hillary then does everything Real-Trump did.  She says the absentee votes are fake.  She leads a rally and directs them to the Capitol to violently disrupt the counting. She specifically asks the mob to attack the VP and the Speaker. Then, after it is clear that all the officials have escaped to safety, including her VP Alternate Tim Kaine, and clear that all the security staff remained loyal to the Constitution, after testing them for 4 hours, she tells her people to go home, and they do.

What would you have said then?  Would you be OK with her running now, or would you call her an insurrectionist?

Wow. That is the most impressive reach job I've ever read. This is going in the 'Really, Really Reaching' Hall of Fame.

It's a hypothetical.  It might be hard to imagine.  But why would it be hard to imagine? You can't imagine Hillary doing these things to try to stay in power?

It needs space monkeys and laser blasts to really give it that oomph.

Well that's why the insurrectionists had blue face paint.. so the space lasers couldn't get them

So... just like the "insurrectionists," Trump only wanted a peaceful insurrection that lasted 6 hours, you know... just to show everyone he could do it. Then, he stepped down peacefully and watched his supporters get arrested. You really have these dictator types figured out. Brilliant.

Finally. War with Iran.

Itll take three days to get to Tehran. One day to take it.

Nah. I am low-key worried about this. Not Iran specifically, but I think it's emblematic of something larger on the horizon.
