And what exactly are you going to do about it? Oh yea that's right, absolutely nothing.  Banana

Likely head to the texans message board and start trolling them about how terrible Stroud is because he didn't lead a drive for a td against the Ravens.

If Trev ever needs a place to stay he can live rent free in CJB's head.

The only irony is that I like Trevor, it's the ignorance from the fans on this board that prompts me to point out the flaws. Hell, if Trevor comes out this year and gives us a mahomes/burrow esque season and looks like the elite QB everyone here seems to think he is i'll be glad to make a thread calling myself out for being stupid.

No you won’t.

You’ll make excuses and then the second he has a bad game, say that you never really saw it and you’ve been right all along.

You’ve already done that once and will likely do it again.

I gave him credit for his stretch of games between weeks 9-14 or so in 2022, I did not ever once say he turned the corner and have never flopped on my stances.

You're delusional. I don't make excuses, if he ends up overcoming the issues he has it wont really change anything i've said because pointing out problems he's constantly had since he got here, PRIOR to him coming here has already been confirmed.

If he gets better/improves it dosen't make anything I pointed out wrong. But alas, as I said if he raises to the levels of a real ELITE QB i'll still take my lumps because I still don't really see it happening.

When i'm wrong, I've pointed it out.. Stroud being the most recent case. I don't really care.

The Jags have and are skillfully maneuvering themselves into a place somewhere between .... a rock and a hard place.

1. Trevor's first year an Urban mess.
2. Second year a sketchy o-line but still in the bottom third that leaked up the middle.
3. Third year a tootsie pop line, hard on the the outside and creamy soft in the middle. (that actually can apply to both sides of the ball)

Now due to the inability to put together an top 15 o-line they find themselves in a position it is impossible for anyone to understand how good Trevor CAN be. Yea, the guys that sing his praises and the ones that gripe about him are in the same boat. Think what they will, say what they will, they have no idea how good he can be. BOTH sides have valid points. If I were TL I am not signing anything these bozo's offer me this year, unless I get a 1 or 2 year out dependent on them providing a competent line.

Some will say a great QB will make bad lines better. I call bull poop on that. I have seen the lines they reference and those can RUN BLOCK and open holes. Those lines referenced do not get knocked on their keister in one on one situations. A great QB can help the o-line and TL has the years he has been here. One thing he cannot do is block for them.
A new broom always sweeps clean.

Then why did you spend all summer basically apologizing for your poor takes? Just couldn’t handle the heat anymore and fell victim to peer pressure?

No one roots for failure.

Yay being right is better than a superbowl.

You realize how dumb that sounds right?

But we are all hyperbolic honestly. We say extreme crap to make a point.

The simple fact is he's not top 5. He's not even top 10. Where you are ranked has nothing to do with what you did in college or what your potential is. It's based on what he's actually done.

I think he can be awesome if we get rid of the pansies on the line that don't even express emotion when Trevor gets knocked around. I want linemen that think of the QB as their baby.

Here's an unrealistic hypothetical that I think is interesting.  What if in the 2024 season all the pieces of the Offensive team (except for Trevor) are exactly average, in all stats (next-gen included,) and the OL ranks at #16, the WR performance/drops are at #16, no injuries to Trevor Lawrence, the running game is at #16, etc.  and Trevor Lawrence puts up the exact yearly numbers he did in 2023.

Would Trevor Lawrence with a passer rating of 88.5 with 4,016 yards, 21 touchdowns, 14 interceptions and 12 fumbles in 16 games (I didn't modify for the game he missed) impact your current view of Trevor as your long-term/franchise QB and your opinion on whether the Jaguars need to resign him?

What you're saying is take Lawrence's time to throw from a 2.19 second average up to a 2.53 second average and give him a pocket to step into about 50% of his drop backs instead of 10% of his drop backs -- plus add a functional running game due to the OL improvement you outlined --  and then he is supposed to just put up the same numbers?

Minus 4 injuries to said QB?

You were right about the "unrealistic" part, LOL

May as well say "what if chickens had silent flight like owls with laser beams shooting out of their butts?"

Don't bother - you've already flipped and flopped more times than a sold out stadium full of Jimmy Buffet fans during an encore of Margaritaville.

The really [BLEEP] up part is that you are on your third visit back to the dark side of trying to be "right" with your initial horse [BLEEP]. You'd think you'd get tired of the cycle eventually.

Yes, that is exactly what I am asking in the hypothetical question/thought experiment.  So under those circumstances, would it change your opinion?

Why is the name of all things holy would he experience such an abundance of aid around him along with not battling 4 injuries and put up the same numbers??

Would never happen.

He’s just throwing out a stupid hypothetical so someone can say “I would still be behind Trevor” and then try and throw it on their face.

The trolls will be here all summer.

Yup, it's pointless and a waste of time to even keep having this "discussion" with these people.

At the very least, Trevor is a good young Franchise QB and the face of this Franchise. If you don't think he is, then you clearly have no clue about what you're watching. End of story.

Hehe, do I need one? We're browsing an NFL site in the off-season, it'll get a whole lot more pointless, I'm sure. If you don't like the specific question, what stats would you expect Trevor to put up in that scenario?

If the line is dead average in pass pro and run blk - and TL stays healthy - he should put up numbers that show a marked improvement over the 22/23 seasons.

A few more TDs , a few less INTs , and a few hundred more yards at least.

This all feels super obvious
