Davis at that price is a steal. But it probably means Zay is gone if they get the WR they want in the draft, probably day 1 or 2.
Savage is a very good player, but secondary guys are always so inconsistent year to year, i'm not thrilled about the cap usage. Good upgrade though.

Still need Edge, DT, and blocking TE, and LB depth.

Zay as good as he was, he may not be good anymore. He was banged up all year and with him getting closer to 30, he may not even make the team. With that in mind, hopefully he would sign a team friendly deal that has incentives. If he plays great, he signs a deal next year somewhere else. If he doesn't, hopefully the Jags could cut him with little guaranteed money.

LB depth??

Huh?

Is Oluokun, Lloyd, Muma, Miller not enough?

Savage makes no sense. I’m not saying he’s a bad player but Baalke is a terrible GM

Other than Josh and Travon, we didn't hear anything about anyone else in the defensive front seven last year.

The Jags were good against the run for the first 8 games of the season...then we started playing more physical teams and that went out the window.

kinda wonder if this is pointing to Murphy/Newton if Mitchell is off the board when 17 is on the clock.

They cut their overpaid strong safety  - how does signing a better safety make no sense?

do they share representation? Maybe if we cut the agent a few deals this offseason, he'll cut us some next Wink

I don't think AZ would take Trevor, though. They already have a buncha money sunk in Murray. Children of clots cannot play in Duval, it is a curse that follows their family for generations.

Okay quality depth.

Miller hasn't played a real snap.
Muma and Lloyd are limited and still make too many mistakes.
Oluokun is good, but not elite.

Perhaps I should give the new DC more credit to be able to develop or use cheaper players to fill in for predictable injuries that accrue during the season, but Jags have lost the benefit of doubt with regards to that.

I agree with most of what you said.

I just didn't feel the young guys last year demonstrated much development/growth to push him out. If Washington, Tim Jones, and/or Cooks can make a leap, that would be perfect to cut Zay.

The ~$3-4 million cap savings by cutting Zay seems pretty meh if that money is basically spent to sign a FA WR.  Zay is also a very good guy to be all 4 SP packages when you already have that sunk cost.

I have a feeling Foye and Devin will look better in the Nielsen scheme.
The staff of position coaches coming in has a pretty impressive pedigree too. Lloyd may get some better development this summer.

Need a DT that can move bodies and be a menace. Hoping Miller can be a Telvin Smith type of backer. I’mma go back to the DT position, if we get a goodun, them backers will fly around more.

Get the extension done with Allen and keep Ridley.

Anyone have an update on cap space after all of this? I like that were being aggressive but some of these moves (gabe, savage, kicker, duvernay) seem a little reckless. I know we had ~25 mil after franchising JA, I cant imagine we have much left.

Jaguars have signed a new Center. Mitch Morse has agreed to a 2 year deal $10.5M deal. $7M guaranteed.

Savage is legit, love that pick up. He gets after the ball, him and Cisco are going to make PLAYS!

Gabe Davis- Meh, this is such a deep WR draft don't love that. Rather see the cap spent else where like to resign and keep Allen happy.

Morse- Looks like a steal, have to wonder the downside to this? Why did the Bills let him go? Injuries? Was he bad last year? LOOKS like a steal of a pick up though!

Duvernay- C'mon man spend that cap else where- resign Allen [BLEEP].

Lutz- Got a consistent kicker, love it. EDIT- nvm lol
