We’d probably have to give up our 1 this year and a couple of picks next year to get him.

Like I said before, I have ZERO confidence in Baalke.

He’s not good at drafting (especially at WR), he hasn’t even drafted a WR in the first 4 rounds with Trevor at QB, the OLine is still suspect and he’s completely botched the Josh Allen situation.

Now we are supposed to expect him to someone make a move for a WR1, more pass rush help and more OLine depth? Oh and more corner help because it’s the last year of Campbells rookie deal and Darby is old.

With the depth at the position in the draft and the contract the team that's trading for him would have to give up the most they will get is a 2nd.

Agree completely, let him go. Good for him, sad we lose the 3rd but it the end of day, he wasnt 92 mil over 4 years with 50 mil impactful on the jags.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

Please Thomas Jr in the 1st

Agreed.

Especially with the defensive line needing another Dog that can actually tackle and disrupt the opposing QB.

Sorry...like Baalke...I don't believe Calvin Ridley was/is worth 20 million per.   I don't.   And after we paid Gabe...I was done with spending on an experience receiver.  Plus, we also replaced Agnew.

No way a receiver gets 20 million per after that.  Not even Tee Higgins.

I'd rather spend that money on a DT or a CB.

We have the same WRs we had the year we made the playoffs plus Gabe Davis. Kirk has shown in our system he can put up the same numbers Ridley did last year. Zay and Davis are capable of putting up 700+ and 7 TDs and we still have Engram. People need to stop acting like we just lost Chase or Jefferson.

There’s no plan.

Are the Jags better today than they were at the end of last season? No. They upgraded center and then what?

It’s clear they’ve botched the Josh Allen and Ridley situation. Traded a 3rd rounder for a 1 year rental of Ridley only to see him walk in FA. Brilliant! This has less to do with Ridley and more to do with his roster building. He has wasted away the rookie contract years of Trevor. Once they pay him, they will have to rely on good drafting (hahahaha with Baalke?!) and savvy FA moves (hahahaha with Baalke?!)

And I’m sure Baalke would have found a way to lose Jefferson or Chase.

Yup.  Same year the Jags won shoot outs with Dallas and Baltimore.    Didn't need Calvin.

Definitely need defensive help still.

Another thing to consider. If the Jags can actually fix the offensive line to give Trevor more time with less busts, that could unlock Etiene as a more reliable pass catcher with him being freed up to go out on routes and leak out as safety valves earlier in the play when he is the protection help.

Too bad their QB can only hit a receiver half the time. That offense ran through Henry and he’s gone.

It’s the same OLine but with Morse.

It will be better but it’s still the same dudes.

But is is not the same. We never saw a healthy Ezra Cleveland in Jax, so it is effectively 2 new guys.

I know that is not enough to a lot of people, but it is very difficult to change more then 2/5 of the OL starters in 1 off season with limited cap flexibility.

My big thing is having viable plan B's and C's for each position. I'm not sold on on Fortner as plan B as much as others are.

I get it but I have zero optimism right now.

No faith in Baalke at all.

If the Jags had signed Ridley you would have been one of the first in line to blast Baalke for giving him that contract and would have had an absolute meltdown when Ridley was the 3rd best WR on the roster.

Yes I feel we are better today then at the end of last season. And your opinion to the contrary mean just as little as mine.

Regarding the D-Line, would Teair Tart or Sebastian Joseph be nice under the radar options for depth/plan B's at DT?

I think the offensive line working out this year is more on Doug Pedersen rather than Baalke. If it blows up, I would expect both to be gone though.

Again, this isn’t just about Ridley. It’s about Baalke and his overall roster building. He has been botching situations left and right. The OLine isn’t any better than it was when he took over as GM. The WR room still needs work. Pass rush still needs work. Secondary still needs work. That’s the point here. Ridley is just icing on the cake.

Do you honestly have faith in Baalke? What has he shown you to give you faith?
