It's 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to hide the hush money payment to the porn actress.

34 charges. I’m not sure what all of the charges are.

I could be wrong, but it's my understanding that it's a federal misdemeanor charge (beyond the statute of limitations) manufactured into a state felony charge with 34 counts.

To me that means it's one alleged "crime" done 34 times.

What exactly did the testimony of the prostitute do to prove that crime?

What about the testimony of the convicted liar?

Those were the two "star" witnesses of the prosecution, and neither gave any testimony that provides proof of a crime.

Right, the federal misdemeanor is illegal and unreported campaign contributions.  He hasn't been tried or convicted of that, but, real talk, he or someone on his team did it.  The money was paid, and it was to help his campaign.

Then the NY misdemeanor is that he didn't report the business expense properly.  Of course he didn't.  The whole point was to hide the thing.  Now whether he falsified the record, or someone working for him did it, it was done, and it is a misdemeanor in NY.

But the NY misdemeanor becomes a felony, if and only if, it was done in service of another crime.  The judge and prosecutor decided that the "other crime" can be the federal misdemeanor and that they can try him for that even though they are in state court.  They are probably wrong on both counts.  The NY misdemeanor can only become a felony in an NY court if they already have a federal (or out of state) conviction, or if the other crime is an NY state crime and then they can try him for both crimes at once.  It's bat [BLEEP] insane to suppose otherwise.

The whole case is crazy, and New York law is a total mess.  Because it wasn't written to create healthy businesses and efficient government.  New York law was written to secure ongoing patronage. Trump was part of that for decades.  And now that he isn't, they are fully out to make an example of him.  Trump or someone working for him committed misdemeanors that in a normal world result in fines and loss of license.  But now they already have a guy in jail and they're trying to get Trump in jail too.  And then you have the "rape" "trial" where "I didn't rape you" becomes a defamatory statement.  New York is just nuts.

I doubt anyone here really disagrees with any of this.  The point Caldrac and others are making, is that this trial is purely persecution for political gain.  

Is Trump guilty of some charges at some level, be it felony or misdemeanor?  Probably.  
Have numerous Democrats committed equal, or greater offenses?  Absolutely.
Had Trump renounced his candidacy and quietly ridden off into the sunset, would he even be standing trial today?  Not at chance.

Sure, Trump abused the system with a payoff/cover-up for the purpose of concealing information potentially harmful to his campaign.  The Democrats then responded with their own retaliatory abuse, with charges and timing designed to derail his campaign, and/or prevent him from holding office.
