Are you leaving The Republican Party specifically for endorsing Trump? Or are there other additional reasons? Because I actually agree with you, just maybe for different reasons. I despise The GOP as well as The Dems.

For me, it's the uniparty that drove me away. Too many bad actors voting Democrat in the GOP, but I'm sure we all know that Trump winning in 2024 doesn't mean those bad actors will vacate.

It's a lot of things.   Republican politicians seem to be willing to say anything for votes, even things I am sure they do not believe.

I won't list all the reasons, because every one of them could lead into another discussion/argument, and I'm too lazy for that generally.

I am a social liberal, fiscal conservative, in favor of free markets, against labor unions, I believe in man-made climate change, against affirmative action, in favor of supporting Ukraine, and pretty worried about the growing federal debt.  I believe any self-made billionaire deserves his or her money.  I'm against protectionism.  I'm in favor of gay rights and gay marriage.  I want to stop illegal immigration and increase legal immigration.  I probably left out a lot of stuff.

There is no political party that represents me.

We're not as different as you may think. Everything in bold, I agree with as well, just not on Ukraine and I'm for protectionism.

You can also add marijuana legalization as well, since I've been on it the last few years and noticed what it does for my pain (I refuse to take pain pills, scared of them).

Edit.. I don't believe in climate change enough that it's doing us harm as a species.. So that can be unbolded.

I am a social liberal conservative, fiscal conservative, in favor of free markets, against skeptical of labor unions, I believe in man-made climate change but oppose efforts to create arbitrary caps on CO2 emissions.  Instead CO2 emissions should be taxed in a way that allows us to lower income tax for most people.  I am against racial affirmative action, but open to affirmative action for those who grew up poor or to support underserved areas, in favor of supporting Ukraine, and pretty very worried about the growing federal debt. I believe any self-made billionaire deserves most of his or her money, but the tax code currently has too many loopholes for billionaires. I'm against protectionism. I'm in favor of gay rights and gay marriage, but there needs to be more understanding that displays of gay sexuality need to be kept away from kids, and less tolerance of "out" gay students flirting with students who are not "out". I want to stop illegal immigration and increase legal immigration. I probably left out a lot of stuff.

"All girls" sports teams should be preserved at all levels and it should never be considered gender discrimination to limit them to only biological females. Congress needs to rewrite Title IX, judges and Presidents shouldn't be using old vague laws to make things up.

Gerrymandering based on political party should be banned.  Districts should always be compact.  Race should only ever be considered to keep a geographically compact minority group in a single district wherever practical. Congress needs to re-write the VRA to achieve this, judges and state legislators and governors shouldn't be using old vague laws to make things up.

Federal subsidies on limited resources like housing are counter-productive.  Instead the feds need to do more to raise the supply of housing, not the demand for it.  This also saves taxpayer money overall. Congress needs to reform the Housing Act to achieve this.

The federal government needs to put lower caps on student loans and demand that states pay a greater share of postsecondary education costs. Congress needs to reform the Education act to achieve this.

Congress needs to stop posturing and implement common sense compromises on these issues that are tripping everyone up. I am politically homeless because both parties would rather wait forever to get 100% of what they want that compromise and get 50%

You agree with me on some of these issues, and there's no hope for any of them unless Congress learns how to get the stuff done instead of talking past each other.

Oh.. I didn't read it, but I'm sure we do agree on some things. I'm not trying to be a dick, I just try to stick with a paragraph or two.

I don't think sir Winston understood the volume of 30-somethings who would call their parents basement home, 60 years later.

I would be completely happy with Vivek as VP..

Perfectly happy!!

Vivek: "You want to save this country? This is how you drain the swamp. Shut down these agencies. Go straight down the list. U.S. Department of Education. Shut it down. ATF shut it down. FBI shut it down. You go straight down the list. You cannot reform these agencies. You want to get in there and ¡Afuera!

Shut it down. That's the future of this country.”
