My god, Biden looked terrible.

This time around, Trump seems much more disciplined in his actions and inactions, such as staying moderately quiet while us Dems go through internal turmoil. I'm not certain if he is getting better consultation (in which he is listening to) or if he's learned a lot from the past, or perhaps both. Assuming all continues to go relatively stable for Trump, I think there is only 1 person the Dems can place as a candidate that has a decent chance of beating Trump, and that is Michelle Obama. Sounds crazy, but the Obama White House possibility would get the Dems off the couch and down to the voting booths. As it currently stands, most (possibly including me) will be sitting at home on election day. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Michelle Obama is the absolute worst choice for President. No leadership experience, no government experience, etc. The only things she has going for her is the gender that she identifies as, the color of her skin and her last name. Picture the disaster that it would be to have her meeting with leaders of other nations, dealing with adversaries, dealing with the border, dealing with the economy, etc., etc. Then again, many liberals and democrats tend to vote based on popularity rather than qualifications, but I have faith that there aren't that many stupid people to vote for her and defeat Trump. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

I simply stated "I think there is only 1 person the Dems can place as a candidate that has a decent chance of beating Trump, and that is Michelle Obama." I did not make any inferences regarding her capabilities to govern at that level. That said, Michelle has had many initiatives (see link) and I recall a president in the past also not having any gov experience. Again, this is not about Michelle's qualifications but rather her electability. https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/adm...elle-obama (07-10-2024, 02:10 PM)HURRICANE!!! I have seen a poll that shows Trump running very close to various non-Biden Democrats. He's leading Biden by about 6 points nationwide, but other potential candidates are doing much better than that. I think there are several Democrats who would have a decent chance of beating Trump if they get started now. People in general don't want Biden or Trump. They want someone new.

He's still not qualified though, not in my mind. And we are all irrational buffoons in the mind of at least one other person.

"Qualified" is a personal, subjective assessment of a person based only on their own skills, history, personality, and experiences. Almost none of it is quantifiable. "Electable" is a personal assessment of a candidate based on how you think others will vote. It is based mostly on polls, and also campaign budgets. Therefore it's partially quantifiable, and a lot of it is objective rather than subjective.
