Even if he's "down by contact" he seems to lose his control of the ball frequently when hit, and he won't always receive the favorable rulings on those.

I also don't give a damn about paying Kirk if his salary isn't preventing me from fixing a weaker place on the roster.

We've had fans clamoring, begging, gnashing their teeth and clawing at their own skin trying to get Trevor surrounded by weapons since we drafted him.

So, we do that, and then just say "meh, this position group is eating up more of our roster spending than a I like, so let's just cut our most consistent receiver to get cheaper"

Nah. Count me out on that. I'd rather get Washington a small package like we did Agnew and stay deep.

He's a $20 million dollar cap savings if they move on after this year, that's a pretty steep incentive to replace him. I don't really like it, but we'll have to see what the situation is after the season. He's already dinged up this year, if he misses substantial time you have to think an expensive 29 year old guy might be too risky to pay that kind of cash next season.

If Kirk misses significant time due to injury again and isn't the clear cut go-to any longer by season's end + Washington tightens up the ability to take the ball to the ground, I could entertain the idea -

As things stand right now, NAH.

AND WAIT!

You had Washington NOT even making the team this year in your 53 projection.

Offense:
QB – Lawrence, Jones
RB – ETN, Bigsby, D’Earnest, Keilan Robinson
WR – BTJ, Kirk, Davis, Washington, Duvernay, Cephus
TE – Engram, Strange, Farrell
Tackles – Robinson, Harrison, Little, Foster
Guards – Cleveland, Scherff, Hodges, Hance
Center – Morse, Fortner

Defense:
Tackles – Armstead, RRH, Hamilton, Maason, Jordan
Ends – Travon, Allen, Lacy, Myles
Backers – Foye, Lloyd, Muma, Miller, Abdullah, Gipson
Corners – Tyson, Darby, Brown, Savage, Jarrian, Prince
Safeties – Cisco, Antonio, Dewey, Thomas

Teams
K – Patterson
P – Cook
LS - Ross

Somewhere else maybe? I've been impressed with Washington as he's gotten reps this year.

My bad.
Probably just bad memory on my part. Last page of that thread has a couple of posts from others doubting PW makes the 53.

I’m not saying I would personally cut/trade Kirk but I can see a world where it happens next year.

Maybe restructure him or something.

If we are looking for help in a position group best trading partners just may be Cinci, SF and Dallas. as they have people wanting to get paid, some even holding out. Not that every other team in the league doesn't know this LOL

Hinges on Davis, Thomas Jr. & Washington this year. Kirk could start getting phased out little by little the way Marvin Jones was phased out little by little.

Not due to his play but mainly his price tag and overall cost of the WR room. Parker has done really well in Kirk’s absence and Trevor seems to trust him.

Question. Since Andrew Wingard is not subject to the waiver wire, can't he just be put on the IR?

So how long will it be in the Miami game before the first 'put Mac in' post?

Trevor looked great on Friday. I know it was against backups but in situations like that you want that difference to stand out and boy did it stand out.

I think Trevors going to be shutting a lot of critics up this year.

Soon as Trevor throws his first INT there will be idiots talking about putting Mac in. Guaranteed.

I think Trevor sets the tone early this year. Expect him to have at least a top five MVP conversation type of season personally.

Haters gonna' hate.

Trevor will be good. And the defense is going to put him in more favorable situations compared to last season. Engram could blow up early.

100%. And they'd completely ignore the 4 TD's he threw before that.

Yea, but if they didn't I would think they were sick or something...

Not long. First major speed bump for them is early. The Browns on the 15th followed by the Bills on the 23rd.

I'm giving that honor to Tank. Dude has been running with purpose and producing. Didn't see that at all last year. I'm a bit less uneasy about the RB position if Etienne needs a breather.
