The line can't run block worth a damn against anything more than a middling defense, the receivers periodically forget how to catch and most usually when they are in the end zone or on 3rd down, and the the running back can't keep himself from fumbling the ball when he's not out with a shoulder or rib or torso or hammy.

In spite of that, the QB is playing decent ball with a broken clock but he then tries to play hero ball because he knows if he doesn't they lose.

On top of that "We need to get bigger and stronger" netted us very little in the weeks and months after it was stated. The center and left guard are better, but the other big men positions we've discussed at length aren't despite free agent signings and draft picks, and we have almost no middle pass rush (again).

On top of that we've had injuries to key players and their back ups just aren't as good (that's the law of football).

On top of that, several players can't run simple plays without holding or procedure penalties.

On top of that we have a guy who's played like dog [BLEEP] barking at the QB on the side line then immediately turning the ball over.

On top of that we have a defensive back who's played like dog [BLEEP] telling the media the other guys quit.

On top of THAT, we have a team that gets no love from the League because they are a jobber franchise to the big markets.

On top of that we have a poster here who thinks his fevered imaginary delusions about a lazy head coach are anything more than bad fan fic so he spams them across multiple threads.

In short, there's a lot wrong and no way to fix the vast majority of it. Fire the coaches all you like, you'll only learn that coaching can only cover up the lack of talent for so long. This is a soft team rostered by soft players who fold like a lawn chair every Sunday in big moments when they have to be tough and physical. Until the guy picking these players is different you'll just keep seeing the same dysfunction over and over again. And it's unlikely that Baalke is going anywhere. I know you want a clean sweep, but that broom doesn't and can't extend to the roster, and that's where the problems are.

It's basically the same team from 2022...

Why are we such trash?

I keep seeing poster's refer back to 2022, I just want to remind... that team was 1 game above .500. That team was 9-8. Let's not act like this was a great team lol. I know 9-8 is a massive deal for this franchise, but c'mon now. It was an epic playoff win, and if any coach not named Brandon Staley is the HC of the chargers I don't think we come back from a 27 point deficit.  Let's not act like that team was some great team.

A lot of luck was involved in 2022 as well. Something I think most of us forget. That 9 - 8 was a very, VERY difficult 9 - 8 to grind out. I remember Lawrence got blasted against the Ravens and fumbled the ball and we somehow got it back. Tucker barely missed a chance to take the win away. You had the goofy tip drill INT to Jenkins with Dallas at home to finish the game. You had Dobbs fumble the ball against the tacks in the season finale to clinch it all as well.

I think we need to focus on 2023 and right now. 2022 is not who this team is anymore. That team had more energy, more positive vibes, more up tempo and rhythm to it, but, again, a lot of it was luck. Last year, this team won against the teams it should have beat and it got manhandled by the better teams the NFL has to offer and they couldn't figure out a way to muster out one more win when it counted the most.

This team has not been the same since that loss to the Bengals on MNF. They really haven't been the same since the tacks with Tannehill, Vrabel and Henry's had their farewell party at our expense in last year's finale with Lawrence back in the line-up. We're not even a middling team right now. We're back in the basement again.

Good teams that play hard make their luck a lot of times.

After watching the game again, Devin Lloyd is one of the main perpetrators. He clearly had the quit.

This team is not dialed in throughout the roster.  Lloyd actually made some good plays in the 1st Quarter, believe it or not.  Yeah, it was obvious that he was completely lost the rest of the game.  But there are players all over that looked completely lost or checked out this entire season.  This was a roster that was supposed to be the best we've ever had.  There's a lot of blame to go around.
