Yeah. Unfortunately, this staff won't take that approach until we lose all or most of these games, IMO.

Prince actually came in for Brown on Sunday after Doubs torched Brown multiple times.
Prince did not fare any better. A little less separation, but he played 17 snaps and gave up a big first down down the sideline.

Where did you hear that about Cam?
Mikey Dempsey on 1010, he said Cam was not happy and Boselli yesterday said Cam wasn't involved at all with the oline when they were on the sidelines and it was weird.

Wow.

We should have paid Juwaan and let Cam walk...

I fear this could be a Buffalo game sequel. Eagles are starting to get rolling and I fear what Hurts, Barkley, Brown and Smith could do to this D.

They put a beating on the Bengals and that's who I feel we are most similar too this year.

I'm sure Doug will get a nice reception there and if it's bad enough we could give him the Han Solo treatment from Darth Vader and give them a 2nd Doug statue

Be interesting to compare how we are this year to going there last year when we were playing really well.

Hell no, we should have just started Little at LT since week 1 of last year.  Our offense was at its best when Cam went down in 2022 and we went on the run and made it to the Divisional round in the playoffs.

Aren there any Eagles FO people we could hire? I feel like that is what Khan should be doing all this week, just meeting all the Eagles FO people.

Yep, Little is a better run guy and this offense thrives when the run game works.

In my opinion coaches can only "preach" so much to the team.  I think it comes down to players calling each other out and holding each other accountable.  How else can coaching correct the problem?  Bench players?

TLDR: go to the 8th paragraph.

A couple of years ago I decided to help coach my son’s 10u football team because the head coach said “hey man can you help us out because I don’t know anything about football.” I said sure.

About week 2 I found out we were the “C” team and the “A” team was loaded with the best players from that age group. The “B” team was made up of the players that didn’t make the “A” team, and the “C” team was all the kids that has never played football, or has never picked up a football in their life.

I put every ounce of effort to prepare them, make them strong, have endurance, etc etc.

We played 8 games, and ended up scoring 1 touchdown the entire season. Bill Belichek, Vince Lombardi, Andy Reed, Tom Coughlin, and Chuck Knoll couldn’t have did anything different to help them win a game.

Our QB couldn’t throw 15 yards. Our WRs couldn’t catch a roll of toilet paper. The offensive linemen would literally stand up when the football was snapped and turn around and watch the play develop. Our RB’s were afraid to get hit and would run backwards to avoid a tackle.

When on defense, our guys were afraid to hit, so the mercy rule was in effect after the 4th play which was when the score was 28-0.

I was required to play every kid a minimum of 8 snaps or something like that.

My point is, if you don’t have the horses, you’re not going to win. Good head coaches are part of it, but it’s not about X’s and O’s it’s about the Jimmys and Joes.

The Jaguars’ secondary is a huge problem. The defensive scheme compounds that problem because we don’t have the personnel to be effective in man coverage. Over on offense, interceptions, fumbles, and dropped passes have crippled this team. Etienne has probably lost his job to Bigsby. Engram has been in and out of the lineup. The offensive line has been below average and Lawrence has lost all confidence and has to constantly rush his reads/throws or break the pocket.

We don’t have a back that can consistently pick up the extra blitzer. The offensive scheme is hot and cold because Doug doesn’t want the sheet the entire game.

The QB is supposed to have a special bond with his play caller and both should be thinking what the offense needs in certain situations, but with the back and forth between Doug and Press is something small that can have a big effect on the QB. There becomes a point when the QB will call the play and run the play while knowing it probably won’t work. Without knowing if he’s allowed to audible or not it’s hard to say if that’s happening.

The best coach in NFL history could come in right now and coach the Jaguars, but he will still have Brown at CB and Armstead at DT and Little at LT. Head coaches can’t control if Kirk catches the football on 3rd and 7 against the Cleveland Browns or if Harrison doesn’t block Campbell in Miami. Head coaches also can’t control if Etienne fumbles in Miami. Etc.

I loved the BTJ pick but Cooper DeJean was the top guy on my board when we picked at 24. DeJean shut down Jamar Chase last week and already looks like one of the best corners in the league. We should have traded up a few spots and taken DeJean in the 2nd and out CB room would be built. It's crazy the Eagles were able to come away with the 2 best corners in the draft. DeJean was a top 10 player in the draft imo and a steal at 40.

It will be interesting to see how these rookies play. Hopefully Maason Smith will be active and play. Mitchell was my top guy at 17 and he already looks like one of the best corners as well. The good thing is we will likely have another opportunity to get a guy in the 2025 draft just as good or maybe even better in Travis Hunter or Will Johnson

The Iggles are the fewest-penalized team in the league (or at least on defense), practically 2-to-1 over us if i recall. We won't have the benefit of them handing us anything.

If we want this one, we are going to have to play clean and organized football. I believe we can hang. If we make a number of boneheaded mistakes, we're doomed.

Damn, that might be the most dense of the bone-headed takes we've seen around here. They've practically renamed the false start penalty in Taylor's honor this year for cripe's sake.

I think we win this game. Not sure why, because there is not any evidence to go off of

I don't think Taylor would get the same ref treatment and rule changes as he has had in KC, here in Jax. Pretty big part of the equation.

Every year at least one or two really good players somehow drop to the 2nd round. Usually it's due to something like poor combine numbers, size issues or rumors about drugs or generally bad character. In last year's draft, both Cooper DeJean and Jackson Powers-Johnson fell into this category. My guess is that both of these players will eventually become long-term starters and quite possibly be selected as pro-bowlers. The Jaguars could have traded up in round 2 without giving up that much; instead they have a guy with a history of injuries who has been inactive for the past couple of weeks. Hopefully, he will meet the high expectations which Baalke had for him when selecting him in round 2 so we can gladly "eat crow" in a couple of years when he is terrorizing offensive linemen and quarterbacks.

DeJean fell because he had a injury and he's a white CB.  JPJ fell because he had short arms, he had a injury, and he's a center.  Newton fell because he had a Jones fracture and is shorter for a DT.  KoolAid fell because he had a Jones fracture.  Pretty much everyone that fell had some type of injury but if you feel they can come back 100% that's how you get your steals.
