It's based on the value of your property and it should continue to be based on the value of your property. Do you disagree?

Why should some people pay more for the same basic services the rest of the community gets. I mean, to rich people use emergency services more then middle and lower class people???? Do they produce more trash than other people??? Or any other services that the local governments provide????? If anything, those services are used by the people in the lower economic classes so..... And since most Fire and rescue services now Bill for transportation to hospitals when taxes used to cover that.... well.... your argument doesn't hold water.

Of course I disagree. Tim Tebow and Betty Jones both use the same city services. Tim likely pays 150K in property tax in Glen Kernan while Betty pays 1K in Sin City.

I'm not so sure they use same city services.

Also, when Tim bought that house, he did so knowing that he would pay a certain amount of property taxes and that that amount was unlikely to ever go down.  He knew what he was getting into.

They don't both drive on the same roads and have their garbage and recycle collected?

No lie told. 95 through there is like driving on gravel.

My dude, I can guarantee you 100% it isn't just 95. Lol. We have friends who live in Lexington and Columbia so we've driven on county roads and local streets down there and they're just as bad. You can get out of your car at the GA/SC or SC/NC borders and look at the roads right there and see the difference in quality and maintenance.

I told my husband once those folks down there must have front end alignment issues on every vehicle they ever own.

Aren't roads under the gas tax while garbage collection is a separate monthly bill?

I think it depends on where you live.  Here in Putnam county where I live garbage collection is added to property taxes.

The State of Florida collects for roads by adding to the cost of fuel. Currently electric cars are getting a free ride on this. They do cause more wear on the roads as they are heavier.

The DW writers can be a bit stupid at times with their blind hatred of the left.  A stronger Ukraine gives Trump a better chance of negotiating peace.

Vehicle registration also helps pay for roads but it's not as much.
I have mixed feelings about electric cars.
If we were in an area that had fully committed to electricity from nuclear power and solar panels, I would all be for subsidizing more people to get electric cars.
But we are not in that kind of area, and the person who buys an electric car in Florida today really isn't helping the environment that much.
Some areas have tried to implement a mileage tax, but people really hate that idea and have protested it.
There is no good answer though. No one likes gas taxes, no one likes registration fees, no one likes tolls. But everybody likes well maintained and adequately wide roads.

You've been sucked in by a fake post by some random Thai person that Ben Fulford was dumb enough to think was real.  He's since deleted the story.

As Abraham Lincoln said, don't believe everything you read on the internet.

This is LONG overdue.....

ICE shuts down programs offering services to illegal immigrants, citing ‘immense’ costs
Non-detained docket has exploded in recent years to more than 7.6 million people

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has ended two programs that provide social services to illegal immigrants who are released into the U.S. interior, telling lawmakers that one brings "immense cost with little improvement" and that another is out of line with ICE’s mission.

The agency responded to Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., and 15 members of Congress who wrote to ICE in May asking for more information about the "Alternatives to Detention" program, which monitors illegal immigrants not in ICE detention. The agency defended the program and said it was "an efficient and effective" program for monitoring a segment of illegal immigrants on ICE’s non-detained docket.
