I know someone posted this last night that it was a done deal, but it was just officially announced a few moments ago on ESPN by Schefter that Vrabel reached agreement with New England.  Good hire for them.  I would have liked him here, but the connections he has with that organization apparently mean a lot more than being in division with the tacks and shoving it to them twice a year.

I just hope Bob Kraft gave Mayo a nice severance, that was a raw deal to get the position open.

I believe the Story about LV gaining traction is just click bait.  Besides Bowers and maybe Brady, what do the Raiders have that the Jags can't provide?  Minshew / O'Connell as QB verses Trevor ... hmmm.  Would a new coach want to face the Chiefs, Broncos and Chages twice a year, where the Jags face the Titans, Clots and Texans.  Quite a difference in talent.

That would be the ticket because the Rooneys are the virtual signaling kings. Tomlin, who is indeed Del Rio's coaching twin, could probably be had for one first rounder. But I don't want a floor raiser. I want to swing for the fences.  

Aaron Glenn is my top choice, followed by an indistinguishable group of 30ish guys who never played in the NFL. Their pencil whipping ways can only take them so far.

Yeah, we need a guy with a successful playing career like Andy Reid. Or maybe Bill Belichick. Or Sean McVay. That's the ticket!

For that matter, we could lure Cowher out of retirement. THEN we get Tomlin. That's the formula that worked.

It's desperation.

If you interview 5, 10 guys and really like 2 or 3, but all of them have qualms about working with the rest of the leadership group, you bend your principles to fit theirs.

Shad needs a quality coaching hire way more than he needs to keep TB around. Sounds like he's not willing to settle for leftovers if that's the only hangup. It's a bad look, especially in the short term, but if you believe in the HC hire more than you do in the GM hire, ego isn't worth choosing a lesser candidate.

He is a loyal guy. It is a negative in quick fix sports team but overall it is a positive in most places.

Question.  Did you read the article?  There is no way in hell I’d consider him.  The Cowboys were awful this year even before they started getting beset by injuries.  They lost their first four home games by a combined 94 points. I guess I have home field knowledge of some of the stuff that went on out here during the season.
