I don't know, but I also don't think it's a very interesting question. What are they trying to achieve is the interesting question.

It is an interesting question because perhaps it signifies what they are trying to achieve. Wouldn't their actions be indicative of their intent?

Another Loss for Gavin Newsom
Federal Judge sided with Trump and will NOT force him  to withdraw National Guard and Marines
Gavin Newsom is now asking the Troops to voluntarily stand down and do what’s right.
He’s encouraging them to be on the right side of history by not taking orders from the President

Newsome, the Mayor and Dem;s are upset because Trump sent the Feds in faster than they wanted.

First they have this deficit they need cash to cover and there has not been enough damage done yet.

Second, anyone arrested by the Feds doesn't get out so fast and actually will spend time in Jail. The feds appeared to be targeting the right people to arrest. They know a bunch of these guys as they travel around organizing this stuff. It is going to be interesting to see if the state prosecutes anyone. That DA appeared to be headed that way, may cost the Dem's quite a bit to buy him off or he may actually talk about them interfering.

Welcome to the Opening Ceremony of the Mental Gymnastics competition here at the 2025 Internet-lympics. Let's go to FSG down on the sidelines.

Car drives through anti-ICE protesters as Chicago joins nationwide anti-ICE unrest amid Trump crackdown
Police vehicles vandalized while ICE removes 'worst of the worst' criminals from American streets

A car drove through a crowd of demonstrators Tuesday night as hundreds of anti-ICE protesters gathered in Downtown Chicago.

The protests in Chicago come as Los Angeles has faced days of unrest.

Protests in LA started on June 7, with rioters burning cars, throwing objects and fireworks at police, smashing the windows of the LAPD's headquarters and looting stores.

Liberals were perfectly fine with Tim Walz using the National Guard to keep people locked up during COVID, but they’re mad at Trump for using them to STOP vioIent riots

I haven't heard from the protestors themselves.  One guy waves a Mexican or Honduran flag and suddenly we make a bunch of assumptions about them and everyone around them. Have you seen any videos or interviews where they actually talk about what they are protesting and why? I haven't.

I see no reason to protest against ICE or the National Guard but at the same time I've never interacted with them either.

Interesting that you completely glossed over the assaults on law enforcement, the burning of American flags, the looting and the burning of vehicles.

Well, the word for that is rioting.
We were talking about protesting, not rioting.

These so called "Journalist" with their leftist agenda really piss me off. They are not cut from the same cloth as Walter Cronkite, Ernie Pyle, Edward R Murrow, Chet Huntley and David Brinkley. Something need to change......

FBI Director Patel Sues MSNBC Columnist Over False Nightclub Claims

FBI Director Kash Patel is suing an MSNBC columnist who falsely alleged Patel spent more time in nightclubs than on the job, the New York Post reported.

Frank Figliuzzi knew his comments were a lie when he said it, Patel's attorneys alleged in the lawsuit, claiming Patel has not spent a single minute inside a nightclub since he took the job, the Post reported, citing the lawsuit.

"Defendant did not rely on reporting by any other person," Patel's attorneys said. "Defendant made up the story out of whole cloth, and by using the word 'reportedly,' attempts to distance himself from what is a maliciously false and defamatory statement. Defendant fabricated this story to discredit Director Patel because of Defendant's clear animus toward Director Patel."

The action is fast paced here. While the competitors catch their breath we will cut to our theme song as the contestants warm up

Closing time, open all the exit borders and let you out into the world
Closing time, turn all of the lights on over every illegal boy and every girl
Closing time, one last call for alcohol, so finish your whiskey or beer
Closing time, you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here

I know who I want to go home.
I know who I want to go home.
I know who I want to go home.
We are going to take you home...

Jon Voight to Gavin Newsom: "You are a fool blaming Trump. What are you doing for this destruction of these animals destroying Los Angeles? Are you there talking calmly with them, you fool? They would burn you down like they're burning the cars and the American flag, with no regard for humanity. This is not about Trump. This is about protecting the people from these animals and criminals trying to destroy us and our police force. Are they supposed to stand there and let rocks hit them and kill them? Who's going to save them? You? President Trump called in the National Guard and the Marines to help with these destructive, barbaric riots. All you do is cause chaos for the people. You're a disgrace. You're nothing but a lying dog for the hopes of becoming the President one day, and God is my witness, truth will prevail because of your faults and your incompetence for California's failures. We the people—we stand, I stand— with Donald Trump to make this state great again. For we the people choose Donald Trump to save America, and we're in danger with threats from terrorists now, and we must protect our country. This has now become good against evil, and evil will lose because our President of the United States of America was sworn in to protect this nation's greatest gifts: freedom, safety, prosperity. And he shall, he will, because he is the greatest President since Abraham Lincoln. And we the people stand with this nation's honor and respect and with the President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump. God bless."

The people standing peacefully on the sidewalk, holding signs, but not infringing on the rights of others are protesting

The people smashing storefronts and running off with the merchandise, throwing rocks at police and torching cars are rioting.  You can see their actions on multiple news sources and, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

What part of this do you not understand?

The noose is about to tighten. The last time Trump, the DOJ and FBI were not ready for this type of organized Rioting and chaos. This time they are. The first of many organizations about to get an education...

I understand it perfectly.  All I said was I'm interested to hear the "why" of both. Non violent or violent.  Even though I agree the violent ones should be punished, regardless, was there some legitimate grievance? For either of them? Usually there isn't one.

Ask one of the money men funding this. I believe by following the money they have actually identified 3 of them. Soros is one and China-based billionaire Neville Roy Singham is another. OR you can just wait and listen to them when they are in front of the congress answering questions as to why.

I gotta move back down there, The area in Maryland I'm in used to be solidly red but...... had a lot of outsiders from the surrounding liberal counties move here....... now it's Blue like the majority of the state...... I love DeSantis!!!!!!

Gov. Ron DeSantis says that Floridians are ALLOWED to drive over protesters in the street, if they feel like their life is in danger..
LOVE this! ??
"And we also have a policy that if you're driving on one of those streets and a mob comes and surrounds your vehicle and threatens you, you have a right to flee for your safety. And so if you drive off and you hit one of these people, that's their fault for impinging on you. You don't have to sit there and just be a sitting duck and let the mob grab you out of your car and drag you through the streets. You have a right to defend yourself in Florida."

1.  Reasonable people who think for themselves, protest when they believe something is unjust and they do so peacefully.  They're smart enough to realize category 3 & 4 troublemakers undermine their credibility but are usually afraid to speak out publicly.

2.  Mindless followers protest when they're told to, and many have a severe case of TDS.  They're typically foaming at the mouth whenever a news camera approaches, but not necessarily violent and not bright enough to do much else.

3.  Those throwing rocks, setting cars and dumpsters on fire and blocking highways like to cause chaos and act out against governmental authority.  They're always looking for an excuse to justify their behavior.

4.  Looters are just thieves taking advantage of an opportunity.  They couldn't care less about the nature of the "cause", as long as it creates an enabling distraction.

The "why" isn't that complicated.
