My guess is that Liam will run ETN like a mule this season. Afterward, he will be on another team with a bloated contract based on past performance. This is presuming a lot from two rookies, one a 7th rounder. As an example, Tank was [BLEEP] his rookie year. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

How many touches in game 1 when he's definitely behind Tank, likely behind Bayshel, and they have Allen sitting there for 3rd down? Again, why would you give carries to the old, declining guy when you've already filled his role with rookies and he doesnt even play special teams? He's money for nothing at this point. And Bucky Irving was a 1,200 yard player just last year. As a 4th rounder. As a platoon-er. Which one of those examples is the exception though? Rookies, especially 4th rounders and beyond, usually don't come in and produce at a high level right away if at all. I think if Etienne is dealt it's around the trade deadline because we're completely out of contention already due to multiple key injuries. I expect at the very least Etienne is getting 50% of the RB touches to start the season though with Tank probably leading in carries. Etienne has always been a guy that needs to get the ball in space and that didn't happen effectively last year for a number of reasons and running him up the gut without a top notch run blocking o-line isn't really his game. At 26, this should be a prime age season for him and he'll be playing to get himself a 2nd contract somewhere. He'll be motivated to turn 2024 into the anomaly.

Unfortunately I don't think ETN can be traded because he's not worth the contract to amyone else. I don't think it's unlikely that a hold over worn out vet takes snaps from rookies the new regime selected to be here. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
