They do get paid. There are companies you can hire to produce a crowd for you. It is routine for NGO's to arrainge the crowds through these companies. You can get $200-300 dollars a day to just be "cover" for the guys at the back that run up and throw things.If you have a car and will provide transportation for others they pay a 95 cent per mile. Gotta have a crowd to melt back into after you do your thing.

Support for US leadership in world affairs jumps over 20% in less than two years, annual foreign policy survey finds

Nearly two-thirds of Americans support increased engagement in international affairs, according to a newly released annual summer survey from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute.

The survey, conducted by polling firms Beacon Research and Shaw & Company Research, marks the third year the Ronald Reagan Institute has conducted a summer survey asking Americans about their attitudes towards foreign policy. It found 64% of Americans overall favor the United States taking a leadership role in international affairs, which is up more than 20% since 2023.

The trend of Americans leaning towards international engagement, as opposed to isolationism, has seen growing support across both parties – even the America-first MAGA wing of the Republican Party, which leads the way with 73% support for greater international involvement, according to the new survey. Meanwhile, 69% of Republicans support the idea, as well as 65% of Democrats, the survey found.

Would you rather China take up that mantle? There will always be too much going on here. There's always too much going on in any country, especially one which is a world leader. If we don't lead, then there will be much more going on here and everywhere else. Haven't the last four years clearly demonstrated that?

You're not wrong. I'm just so [BLEEP] tired of this country being jerked around by politicians on both sides and the divisive snake pit the media has become that stokes the fires that makes everyone go nuts. This country needs actual leadership regardless of who is in office at every level of government and the last four years definitely showed a lack of that. 

Trump has his faults, some very frustrating, but he's not someone to be taken lightly. That can be both encouraging and terrifying.
